Putting one of these into my S13, but unsure what D Bush to buy. SuperPro has them up to 24mm, but the bar seems to be 25mm (admittedly measured with adjusting shifter with measuring marks, tape backs this up but both could be 1mm out). I've also read some people state t's 26mm. Nolathane lists odd sizes.

Can any shed one some light on this?

Also do I need to use grease on the bushes when installing them? Seems to be a lot o conjecture around this also.

Um, Shirley this is a function of the actual bar that you have in your possession, and not something that anyone else can know?! Buy cheap plastic vernier calipers from Bunnings or Jaycar, measure and revel in your newfound ability to correctly measure this stuff.

As to the lube - any time urethane touches metal, moly grease goes in there.

Are you telling me Nissan just randomly put different sizes rear swaybars in the back of all their cars... surely there's a factory size.

Not grease - special lube.

I have Lithium grease, good enough or is it something more specific and does it normally come with the bushes?

OK, but now you tell us that it's factory. You didn't before. And I'm pretty sure that the factory GTR bar probably isn't that large, although I'm willing to stipulate that it might be. See below for comment on that. The manual GTSt one is ~17 or 18mm or something, the auto GTSt one is only ~13mm. Stiffness goes up with the 4th power of diameter, so 24mm is a hell of a lot stiffer than 18mm, even if comparing hollow with solid.

The heavy duty Whiteline GTR rear bar is 24mm. Not a real big step up from a factory 24mm bar.

Try the Nolathane site again. Do the Make/Model search

You will find rear sway bar mount bushing and it will be an ID of 18mm (part#42478)

I'll have to get some moly grease then, I only have generic heavy duty industrial and lithium at home.

Yeah I found the 18mm one, but this is much larger.

It could be after market but it was sold as having been removed from a 32 GT-R that was being wrecked, the colour/age implies that also. The same smokey black colour as all the others I've seen where as almost every after market bar I've ever seen was anything but black.

The size surprised me too, concerned it's going to be too stiff for a grip setup.

Just use the lithium grease

Shouldn't use a petroleum based grease on poly - many petroleum greases have moly in them, so I'm surprised that just a "moly" grease would be any good.

Lithium grease is made for situations where petroleum greases are not suitable, so perfect for poly bushes.

Edit: just had a quick search, and it looks like some (maybe most) moly greases are used in a lithium grease base. These would be OK. I know that they used to put moly into petroleum based greases (when I first came across moly greases 20 odd years ago) so guessed that this was still the case.

Just make sure that whatever grease you use has a lithium base and all should be good.

Define "too wide". As in "too wide such that if I cut some off it it would be fine"?

FWIW, when I put the 24mm bar on the front of my R32, I spent about a half hour going back and forth between the car and the pedestal buff removing material from the outside of the bracket bushes so that they would fit inside the brackets.

    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny  
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
