Picked up Volvo XC60 this arvo.

Undamaged paint: tick

All dents gone: tick

New tailgate light lens: tick

Aluminium mouldings: tick

Rubber momouldings: I rejected a front roof moulding. It has two dents and the edge is lifting. Rephotographed and reported to the insurance company.

Other: Offside blinker didn't work and offside rear parking light didn't work. It was just a detached loom.

After arguing through 6 emails 3/side, I finally got consent from an NRMA assessor that the rubber moulding end piece at the front will be replaced. My final straw was telling them that Volvo wouldn't allow the car to come out of the factory like that ie with two distinct dents in it and the upper edge lifting.

Hmm it is unfortunate to hear that it came to that to get that sorted.

It does sound pretty straight forward => damaged items should be repaired / replaced.

Hopefully this will be the last of the hurdles :)

    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
    • Sounds like a misfire. Check fuel pressure and don't even think about going into boost while it's like this unless you enjoy engine rebuilds.
