DSC_0288.JPG.2d612e8f3a4019abce5b21dd450f2561.JPGCheck the tube out. (from the Dennis) Intercooler to manifold intake pipe on the charge air or boost side were 4" o/d. Because the intercooler outlet and the manifold were cast pipes the I/d of the cast pipe was approximately the same as the I/d of a 3 1/2 inch 16 guage tube. They have had problems with the 4" Ali tubes being worn through and cracking from the compressor lines of the Cummins engine wearing through and losing boost pressure and rattling. I left the tube running off the intercooler at 4" like a plenum then reduced it to 3 1/2 to clear the chassis rail and compressor tubes. Still had to press a flat in it for clearance at 3 1/2 inch o/d s/s. We had to lift the chasis from the leafs just to be able to manoeuvre the tube in with a porter power because the 2ton forklift couldn't lift it. Developed 3 tubes from 316 s/s, done the drawings and jigged it up. 2 days. Tighter than a nuns I'm there. Mental.DSC_0292.JPG.934e33e1b2456435ed5f1f9d61aedce4.JPG

Hey if i were to ask nicely what would I be looking at roughly for you to make me up a intake pipe (replace the plastic/rubber one) with i nice one like this. Your fab work looks awesome

Thanks. At work we sell all the s/s m/s Ali tubing and bends. Plus all the silicone hoses. Clamps, reducers and what not. I'd have to have a look at what you want then get you the gear at cost pricing. We only do heavy duty or mainly diesel stuff at work and I wouldn't recommend the labour costs! But would be happy to have a look and try to help you out! I've got heaps of stuff to fix on the 33 but going into work on the weekend bums me out. Is it 3" piping?
It would be from turbo to air filter chances are would be same as your 33?

Scottynm35 makes them from Ali n ships them over. He has a jib set up to suit most models. He also puts in small return pipes if required for blow-off valves and whatever else is required. I'd reccomend waiting til you replace turbo to reduce modifying twice. I got mine from his aswell as hundreds of others

Ouch!

Ouch!

Sorry didn't mean to cut you out, just thought it might be more effort getting angles aligned with his car etc where someone has already figured it out and charges decent price for ppl on Sau.

Sorry mate

All good. I've got 3" Ali off the intercooler and 3" s/s In the engine bay. The 304 s/s is more heat resistant and less prone to cracking than aluminium. The aluminium will get a better smooth penetration on the inside of the tubes compared to stainless unless you purge weld it. Also aluminium is lighter. Or you would have to use different s/s filler rods that we don't have at work anyway. No cut out at all. I've still got loads of jobs on the car that need to be done at work and can't bring myself to head in on the weekends. I did my apprenticeship at opposite lock/outback accessories, then k&n fabrication as the foreman. I've been at exhaust fabricators/ engine protection equipment for 18 years as the foreman. If someone else has it jigged up for cheap go for it.
That looks awesome, only difference on mine is wouldnt need the maf. If you could give me a ball park figure (you can pm me, private message) or just post here as im sureshoey85 andmanne might also be keen?

Nah I'm good mate, mine doesn't need fancy pipes

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
