interested to know which R32 and R33 GTR's have the ducts in the front bumper and which don't, often called N1 slots, located at either side of the number plate? as far as i know, it has nothing to do whether it's a v-spec. maybe it's related to what series it is (1,2,3) etc maybe somebody can confirm.

Only Series 3 R33 GTRs (1997-1998) came with them standard.

If you see any other earlier model GTRs have them, it was either a factory option or fitted aftermarket.

No idea about R32s.

I also have a 1994 R32 V-spec II it dosent have the N1 vents and most of the V-spec and V-spec II i have seen do not have them as far as i know they were only an option or fitted as an aftermarket item only the N1 have it as standard. This is also the same as the lip on the boot lid everyone says it was on all 1994 GTRs as far as i know it was also a option part dont know about the N1 though.

regarding boot lid.... read through these threads.. it was a nismo GTR standard.. but many R32 GTR owners in Japan have added them to their cars.. from all i know it wasn't a vspec standard item.... u never know could have been an option on all R32 GTR's when new.

I purchased a set of the fibreglass vents for my 32 GTR from Unique Autosprts.

Does anybody have any experience in retro-fitting these to an existing bumper?

The guy who was installing them for me struck metal about 40mm behind the plastic bumber. I assume this is the bumper reinforcement bar.

Is it safe to cut through this to fit the vents? (ie. will this weaken the structural integrity of the car?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
