Worn Out Steering Rack Bushes

Is it still safe to drive around with worn steering rack bushes on a 32 gtst? because i was told they were worn about 2 months ago when i was changing my tyres but completely forgot about them until now. Could this be why my car pulls so much to the left and why my steering wheel shakes when i have to brake harder than usual?

They have to be pretty bad to cause a noticeable effect (to most people). And they have to be really bad to be much of a safety issue.

Unlikely.

Start by getting a full wheel alignment and balance. If this is still an issue get your pads and rotors checked, and skimmed if needed. That should help.

and simple and easy to replace with basic tools and little knowledge (as long as you are confident to jack up a car and put it safely on stands).

Agreed - The drivers side is a bit fiddly but not as bad as the WRX I just did it on also.

bro i got my wheels aligned 3 times. Once at big o tyres...didnt change nothing, then at pedders FOR $140...still nothing...then again at jax...didnt change a thing. Wheel alignments are the biggest waste of money. Also, i put in slotted and drilled discs with bendix heavy duty brake pads, why would i need to get the discs machined if they dont make noise or affect the braking?

Well based on your original post I thought something is affecting the braking?

Anyway one cause for steering wheel vibration under braking is warped discs, hence the suggestion to get them machined.

Also given that you've had so many alignments and the car still pulls to one side could mean that there's some damage to the suspension arms.

Just my $0.02

Edit: One more thought - is it possible that one of the wheel hubs had some rust/debris on it when the new discs were put on? This could cause vibration under braking as well.
