I wonder what the fastest time for a White Series 2 R33 GTS-t with HKS GT3040, Tial 46mm Wastegate, PowerFC, Trust Type-R BOV, Plasmaman Intercooler, GReddy Intake Plenum, Sard 660cc injectors, NGK Plats, running 1.2 bar, using 235/40/17 Dunlop D01Js, and a Cusco carbon fibre strut bar is??

They're the category rules, no changes... They sound like a great set of legal modifications to base the class around.

I think I might have been the world's fastest!!!!

:spcow: :spcow: :spcow: :spcow: :spcow: :spcow: :spcow:

I ran 11.10 @127 a few years ago with low mount 2540s on std internals engine.

Of course after the next meeting the internals were stuffed so didnt last long.

From memory was making about 345 rwkw at that stage.(before it went bang)

We did push it as high as 395 rwkw on C21, but didnt race it on that tune due to obvious

reasons. On a 'built' engine, should be able to run around 400 rwkw or more with good low mounts without any problems. Of course then driveline explosions become the limiting factor.

Thanks guys for all the comments. Found out that the Australian record for a low mounts is 10.78 @ 130.33mph, by Theo in QL with his white 32 GTR. The world record is 10.6?, Mines white 34 GTR (6 speed). (although I cant find any info to actually be 100% positive of this one).

:wavey:

So you're going for the records for low mounts?  Aussie then world?  WTF??!?!!!?!?!?!

Adrian

Adrian, why all the negativity?? I thought this forum was to create discussion and support between people who love skylines? Seems that all you have ever done to me is rip me off!!! At least I get out there and have a go.

Stace honestly take it with a grain of salt, put it down to Imacrabbyf*cker syndrome because I can't race at the moment hehehe I know this because i've had it for the last few months aswell :)

Thanks Buster I can always rely on you for some encouragement. You always respect others on the forum even if you don't agree with what their saying.

All we have done to the car has been in our shed at home, no big name workshop or big $$ budget, sure great times earn respect and obviously I have not reached the cars potential yet.............or mine.............but I'm the only girl I've seen entered in the import catergory and I'm not afraid to get out there and have a go......and remember 2rismo I'm only 0.2 sec behind you, so look out!!

BTW....... what Adrian does'nt realise is I have a secret weapon, and his name is paul. He can drive the pants off that car, and I'm not afraid to predict that paul will have broken at least one of those records before the end of the year. We even have the support and assistance of one of the current record holders to help us achieve this. That's what I call sportsmanship!

Wwwwwwhhhhhhhhoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's out there now

No no no no no.... That was meant to read: "So you're going for the records for low mounts? Aussie then world? WTF??!?!!!?!?!?! i.e. Big plans coming up for the car!!! Holy shit I had no idea of your intentions - good luck etc etc etc...."

I'm not taking the piss, Stace. Really.

Adrian

"Hello, is the 'real-life' Adrian out there?"

No. He ran an 11 or two then gave up :)

Really, it just lost something (and gained something) in the translation, Stace. Only 0.2 seconds behind me? Shit a brick! New low mounts AND coconut sunscreen?!?!?! I am FINISHED! hehehe...

Adrian

You can stop loving yourself in here please Brett :)

Seriously though Stace, I'm not taking the piss or being negative.  I'm a DIRT groupie and you know it :)

Adrian

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
