Shane ill be there but im flagging and helping out as SSCC are running the day. You driving??

Ill be at oran park for the next round though.

Im happy with the 6 but I know its got alot more in it once its on new tires and it becomes a bit more responsive. On the videos Im with greg in a straight line but he can pull a car length on me out of the turns untill I get the boost back up. We were running the same boost and almost identical power.

Chris I qualified in 7th was passed by 3 cars off the start as I had severe brain fade.

finished race 1 in 3rd so gained 7 positions

started race 2 in 3rd and finished in 2nd.

and finished the last race in front so I was pretty happy, was up against drivers with alot more experiance than myself in the whole grid racing schene.

Even went home with a trophy!

Its not easy going out there with 25 odd cars none of which are willing to give up a spot. And overall lap times mean bugger all in a race situation. Even doing 6's all day its bloody hard to get past a 1:08 second car!

Ive got some awesome in car footage from my car and Gregs S15 when he was carving up the field from the rear of the grid.

So many close calls in 8 laps its seriously unreal to watch how close you can be to someones bumper!

Its a pretty hairy ride Chris. Im pleased but wont be stopping here. Ive got a small list of things to do over the next few weeks and the engine will be coming back out shortly. Next time down there i wont be happy unless it cracks a 5. Currently ive dropped a second every event so its more than possible.

Ill try and get the incar video up or send it to you. pretty interesting to watch.

new Phillip Island PB for me.

Roy, after you sober up fro Superlap, time to update the ladders.

See my sig below.

Watch out Ferni!!!!

Well done Andrew, looks like all the gremlins are gone, including the ones in your brain!!!!!!!!!

I would love to Andrew, but you need to get the moderators to allow me to become a moderator as you may have noticed that the original poster can no longer modify old posts...so i cant change the times. Up to Uncle Snowy

Doh, progess can be a bitch sometimes.

Jack, the gremlin I've got is I keep eating front right tyres for some reason. I had the front right delaminate on the inside edge on Saturday after the second timed session. It was only 3 meetings old and this is the second time it's happened. Would have been a 1.47 for sure as the track was getting faster during the day. Ask Ant, he's rapt with his time on the last session!

As per my avatar, if I put all my fastest track sectors for the day together it would have been a 1.47.6, some I'm as inconsistent as ever :P

Small change to my time if all fastest sectors were added up. I'm encouraged as I was down about 5-10 kph in top speed, only did about half the day and the slow traffic was a nightmare. Jesus it's frustrating though :P .

Datalog attached.

Ok boys the bar has been set for a standard-ish GTR at phillip island.....I always knew it was in the car but the driver had to catch up

1.49.6887 (link: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results..../2008.PHIL.S15)

Don't think there is too much left in the car the way it is....the tyres are a little worse for wear with about 1 track day left in them so I guess a fresh set would net me a couple of 10ths.

Time to start modding the suspn to see what I can do :P

Also anyone know where to find the overall laptimes on natsoft across all groups....Ferni?

That's awesome Ant, well done! How many 49's did you run?

Normally on natsoft there is a link down the bottom combining all sessions - maybe thats just WRX sprints...

Cheers Roy.

Ferni....Just the one.....wanted to go out in another session but had no fuel left. Going by my lap timer my laps were steadily coming down until the 49 with the lap before being a 1.50.03.

Yeah I think thats just the WRX ones as I clicked on every link I could find with no luck....I'll have another look as I want to try and find the list of all laps completed as well.

Brad - yeah man send it! will be good to study your lines mate!!

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
