I can't say I've seen any unregistered cars there, but yeh, cages/stripped sure. Mine and Chris's but two examples...... hope they give you a fair go, if for no other reason that I don't wish to be slapped around by a daily driven Supra on raod rubber! lol

A lowly Supra would not get near the GTSt! Just strip more weight out of it since you cant throw more power at it. :(

haha, trust you Roy :D

Harry's close to me in his Supra, there's only .2 seconds in it :)

I can tell you there's nothing left in mine as it stands now unfortunately. Lakeside is a very high average speed track and my little jigger just lacks in the power stakes. It's pretty awesome on the picks now though and still very quick in early and mid corner (even on these very old 02g's that haven't worn an ounce in 300 track klms). Hopefully I can get everything sorted out for the 21st and see if I can better my best :)

Well done Noel! :(

Roy... not bloody much!

The allowed to do list is short, basically;

Turbo back exhaust.

Fuel system now free.

ECU/boost control free.

Not allowed list is long.

No 'cooler upgrade.

No camor gear change.

No air intake change.

No turbo change.

Nothing internal.

Basically, NA guys can go to town, turbos are limited. And probably rightly so for a more level playing field.

doesn't really worry me if they don't let the 1200 run - i'll just have to get a clown suit and do one of their race meetings instead!

And I wouldn't mind another go in the Supra anyway - I think I can go a bit quicker yet. go a bit harder under the bridge and can work on being very smooth onto the front straight - easy to loose time there on cheapo Federals! maybe there's a tenth or two in hungry and the first half of the carousel as well. and I've got a brand new LHR tyre after Oran Park too - it's just gotta be faster! lol

Time atack at QR this morning and a new sprint pb for the old man. The wheelchair carried me to a string of 58 second lap times with a best of 58.4.

Happy old man. :D:mad:

Geez...Noel no stuffing around with posting that up!! Ha ha congratulations and keep those times coming down :D good to see :D

kenoath!

huge contrats Noel!

I'm sure there is more left in it with teh straight line power it has!

well done mate.

michael

:) just got off the phone with the QR officials. my Datsun is not going to be allowed at this Lakeside event, it's strictly road cars only, so I'll be back in the Supra for another go!

I'll have to wait till after the resurfacing and do a TopGear race meeting to get the Datsun onto Lakeside aparently. their reasoning is fair enough.

Well done Noel! :)

So NA can have a few ccs snuck in? Even so, i am betting an NA RB20 woudl be no bad thing. But the torque of the turbo engine is going to help on road rallies

So the fact that the R32 was released as as R32 GTS25 with an RB25DE doesnt allow you to run that engine. I am sure there are cars out there that have been built up from another spec of vehicle, GTR an dN1 comes to mind. So if you are allowed to go an NA RB25, throw a bucket load of compression, multi throddle bofdies and the thing would sound wild, great throttle response and make more power then you are making at the moment.

Oh, but hand on, do NA engines have the same cam etc restrictions as forced induction?

New Pb for me at Sandown today - 1.21.5 and on a damp track - very happy with the "Mark and Duncan ATTESSA controller" - first time I've really used it in the wet on the track and it works a treat on the "6" setting.

Car Make and Model: 1994 Nissan R32 GTR (N1)

Lap time: 57.55 (QR - Sprint)

Modifications

Power: 298kw

Tyres: 18" : RE55s SR2

Suspension: Apexi N1 professional

Brakes: Alcon 4 pot, 350mm, Ferrodo DS3000 Pads

done a little while back, forgot to add to this thread.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
