hey all

Bought a r32 GTR bonnet from interstate.

Had it sent through Toll Ipec. Do yourself a favour and dont use them!!

Service was good. But when the bonnet was opened found the damage in the pics below.

Despite having 'DO NOT STACK ON TOP OFF" written in huge letters and fragile stickers all over it, and the seller packed really well etc it was heavily damaged. The pics dont do it justice!

They must have put it up against the wall of the truck and used tie downs on it. But tightened it way WAY to much.

Of course no one is taking responsibility for it and now im unsure what to do as itll cost more to fix than its worth IF it can be fixed to being ali....Just a pain as i found it hard to find a gtr bonnet for a good price as is....

Frustrated!!

freight companies don't give a shit about your delicate item. "fragile" might as well say "give it your best shot mate". Every freight or postal company is the same.

I have had CO2 laser tubes sent from overseas quite well packed with bubblewrap/foam and with "fragile" all over them and I could tell before I even opened it that the tube was broken. In fact the cardboard box was bent, and the glass tube was basically turned into powder it was so beaten up. I reckon someone played baseball with it back at the depot until they heard the tinkling of broken glass. The second one (packed even better) was broken in transit too. For the third one the vendor had to wrap in bubblewrap and foam and then put it in a solid wooden box before it arrived OK. I told them NOT to put "fragile" on it either. That sticker is just a red flag to a bull.

So, as much as it sucks that they damaged your bonnet, all I can say is the seller didn't pack it well enough. Alloy bonnets are easy to bend, should have built a wooden frame around it. Pack it well enough that it doesn't need "fragile" and you're sorted.

Two points! Both true!

1) + 2) = Perfect Storm

+1 for freight companies being the work of the devil

You wouldn't think it difficult to pick up an item from somewhere and transport it to another location, without it getting lost or damaged...but no, they all fail at this test at some point.

JSAI and Bodyformaero have both had good reputations with post and delivery.

How well do they pack their body parts? Any feedback?

What concerns me is, why are you wanting to ship body parts? Are you buying or selling?

We use toll ipec at work for everything...

Utterly useless. Stock arrives tipped over, smashed and sometime doesn't get here at all.

But because we have an account manager, and ship a cubic fkload with them, most claims get approved.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
