Wgnc34 Box Same As Gtr Series 3?

Hey Guys,

I am trying to hunt down a series 3 r33 gtr gearbox from 1997 up so I can fit an OS gearset.

I have been looking on yahoo JP for a suitable box to import. Can someone tell me if the 5spd gearbox used in the WGNC34 stagea is essentially a series 3 GTR box?

Attached is 2 pictures, note the WGNC34 box has a slightly different bell housing casting? Is it still a FS5R30A box? I would prefer to import the WGNC34 box if I can, as being a 2000 model I'm hoping it may come in better condition.

From what I understand they are the same internally, which means the gearsets are the same, but obviously they have different bell housings to accommodate different vehicles.

After they made small revisions to the 33 box in the series 3 they kept it for the awd Stagea until they came out with the 6 speed for the 34.

Someone else might be able to confirm this.

Yes Stagea uses FS5R30A

I put a box from an R33 GTR into my Stagea and it went straight in.

I blew my 1998 ser 3 box yesterday :|

If you are putting in a new gearset it might be what you are looking for??
