Gtr-registry.com: Now All R32/r33/r34 Gtr Details - Full Registry - Submit Photos/info

Recommended Posts

I've spent some time looking over what's there and you're right - it's not correct.

It's a bit confusing so if anyone can help that would be great - I'd love to get it correct.

So the information is in the 2 following images: First is a general explanation:

Second is the info

Now the 2 parts of model codes we are interested in are:

LM AA

LM ZG

L= projector headlamp

M = P = Climate control air con

= Q = Optional sound system

From the left table

Then there's

AA which is both cold weather package (not listed above but should be)

ZG

Well Z doesn't even exist on the middle table.

G = B + D

Do we then take both left and right column of B and D, or only the right (or left?)

B(left) = ABS

B(right) = GT-R steering wheel

D(left) = GT auto spoiler (front lip)

D(right) = viscous LSD

Then if GTR steering wheel is listed here, why is it not listed in AA? Surely they have all the same steering wheel :)

Thoughts?

Edit: It's been pointed out to me the preceding LM and LT are more R32-specific, the AA/ZG/ZH are BNR32-specific. Hence the various Auto Spoiler, Steering Wheel etc. translations don't apply here, they're for GTS (and GTS-t) models.

Not sure how best to leave the translations.

What's even more confusing is apparently there was 15,000 R32 GTR's with MZG... So how can there be no info on it?

I have spent hours previously trying to figure out what it means but i couldn't find anything.

Back to the cold weather package:

For R34 GTR can confirm from Nissan documentation:

Wiper de-icer
Heated door mirrors
Heavy duty battery
Better heater
Different coolant
寒冷地仕様(ワイパーデアイサー、ヒーター付電動格納式リモコンカラードドアミラー、寒冷地用高性能バッテリー、寒冷地仕様クーラント、強化ヒーター)

Bob: I'll see what I can find tonight.

Anthony: My friend Cam who has been helping a lot, he thinks

"I can only come to the conclusion that AA means no rear wiper, ZG means it has a rear wiper.".

But I removed the notes for the time being as I'm still not 100% sure...

I did actually look through 50+ auction results trying to find an AA car with a photo of rear windscreen but no luck.

Might have another go tonight if I get some free time.

Cheers

ahhhh, there you go, much appreciated sin-

basically everything I knew.

second line with this MZG at the end, seems I fall into that group of people.....

Honestly I think mzg just means it's effectively a bog stock series 1? And they didn't need the extra letters hence they did mzg as like a place holder code. I have gone over my car top to bottom and I can't find anything special.

ye think I'd have to agree, a special 1 in 15,000 ;)

Yes but surely there's some difference between

LMAA

LMZG

LMZH

LTAA

LTZG

The other issue I'm having is regarding the Options column. Originally with just the R34 GTR that idea was to just list what "options" the car had. Ie Side airbags, since for example all cars have rear wiper and super fine hard coat (except for N1s..). But when it comes to cars, it's more a spec than an option (ie series 3 front bar for R33 GTR is on all Series 3s). But should it be listed? It's not really an option if it's on all, but it's not on series 1 and 2 cars. So I could change Options to specs, then the list would becomes quite long (especially for R34 GTR) and then it would be a bit hard to see the differences and what was actually "optioned" ....

    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
