managed a wheel spinning 261rwkw with 2 people in the back 1 sitting in boot and 3 straps, 1 of which gave way and I now have as a souvanier(sp?)

couldnt get a final figure as it would break traction, dissapointed as i was hoping for a proper figure so will be going back with differant tyres on the rear(they think mite be the soft compound causing problems).

Thanks to the guys at mercury and SAU-QLD for the event.

couldn't make it.. but looked like a good day..

been spending too much lately on bits for my cars rather than actually doing anything with them... :P will have some interesting things to throw on the dyno in a couple of months :D

thats a shame they couldnt strap it down properly.... maybe they need a dyno refresher course....ha ha....

good power results thou..

good results guys....sorry i missed the day....

Was good fun! Im suprised how well mine did, considering I got the extra weight and all!

** disclaimer, I understand that weight has no effect on a power run, its my weak attempt at being funny...

Thanks to everyone who turned up and to the extras that did to fill the spots of the ones who didn't bother.

Some good consistant results from a few cars and some suprises from others.

I think the top figure on the day was Richard Hull with 312.8rwkw (don' t have my sheet with me at this point in time). Lowest of course being the cappucino with 37.7rwkw.

Thanks to everyone for hanging around and being so patient with the swapping and changing of the schedule of cars for the day. With people having to be gone by certain times and others having to drive back to towoomba, I'm sure it was frustrating, but thanks for sitting it out. :P

Also, thanks to Cameron, Trent and the boys at Mercury Motorsports for running the dyno (they didn't finish till 8pm!), putting on the free food for all who attended and going that extra mile with things that other dyno places wouldn't normally do.

All in all, it was a great day and thanks to everyone who made it :P

Thanks to Erin and Andrew for making the dyno day happen, and the lift back down to the coast too !!!

It was a good day/night. It had everything COPS/CRAZY PLANES IN THE SKY/RAIN/SUN/BIG POWER NUMBERS/LOW POWERNUMBERS/2 CARS UNABLE TO RUN ON THE DYNO

If anyone has any video of my car on the dyno can u please please PM me.

dunno about that they strapped down the 33 4 door fine and that made 311rwkw.. I'll be going on again thursday night hopefully and get a final figure, my goal is to beat that figure of 311rwkw set by said 33.. :P

I'll push more than 1 bar if need be hehe, will keep updated :P

I feel bad that i broke their strap :(

    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
