planrforrobert
New (frustrated!) Skyline owner Greets, First time Skyline owner (R32 GTS-T) looking for an online community to lean on when need. I've got some issues to sort out before winter sets in, but so far I am excited about my first Skyline. Over the weekend my GTS-T drove terribly- no boost, breaking up under load unless I babied the throttle. I got in it yesterday morning to drive it to work so we could diagnose the issue (thankfully I work in a VW/Audi tuning shop and have techs that are enthused about Japanese imports), and after a couple coughs and sputters it's back to driving as it should, although the boost gauge on the dash is no not working. 2 steps forward, 1 step back, right? My initial plans for the car is maintenance, maintenance, maintenance- new tires, alignment, fresh oil, and new coil packs. planrforrobert
Also, can you confirm that what's written on this sticker would indicate that the timing belt was replaced at 104300km and should be replaced again on/around December 19, 2016? GeeDog
I'd read the date on that sticker as the 16th December 2019, but this wiki page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_and_time_notation_in_Japan - suggests that your interpretation is correct - 19th December 2016. I'd be inclined to go by the kms travelled, but if the US is like Oz the reading on the odometer may be incorrect. GeeDog
There have been many JDM cars imported into Australia, where the odometer has been tampered with before the first owner takes delivery, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/467184-new-frustrated-skyline-owner/#findComment-7783123 Share on other sites
