Bringing a SA adm s15 to VIC

Hi fellows,

First post in this forum. I'm located in Melbourne and currently looking at buying a ADM s15 located in SA. The seller says it'd be better to check if the car can be compiled in VIC beforehand to avoid hassles. So my question is that is the compliance standards in VIC and SA pretty much the same? Even they're not the same, getting a SA registered s15 on the roads in VIC wouldn't be too difficult, right? Or otherwise, what is the best way for me to check if it can be compiled in VIC?

Here is the mods list from the seller:

- 85000km

- Genuine Work Emotion XD9's (gunmetal, 18 x 9" +30)

- Genuine OEM Japanese rear bumper + rear pods

- Genuine OEM side skirts

- Genuine OEM Japanese driver side boost gauge pillar with digital boost gauge

- Whiteline front and rear sway bars

- Heavy Duty Clutch

- Tinted windows

- After market alarm (immobilizer)

- Clear side indicators

- HID headlights

- Greddy Front Mount Intercooler

- 3 inch turbo back exhaust system (Kakimoto)

- Blitz (Jap) adjustable coil overs

- Modified GT rear wing (no middle column)

- After market head unit

- Pod filter

- Strut bar

- all the standard 200sx features

Do you guys think this s15 can be easily registered in VIC? Or what likely needs to be done to it to get it roadworthy in VIC?

Thank you for your time and I appreciate any helps and efforts.

If it's an adm car as you say,  then it can be registered anywhere in Australia as it's been complied for Australian delivery.

The mods may cause grief with getting a pre-rego roadworthy. Things like coilovers,  exhaust mods,  bovs, intercoolers, hid lights etc. could cause problems. Best of to check those things with your local authorities as I'm not familiar with Victoria regs.

Thank you for your reply warps. I'll check with Vic Roads.

If the battery tray has had a hole cut in it for the intercooler piping. This can create headaches. Vic roads will want you to get a engineers certificate.

Thanks adms15. I will pay attention to that too.

    • Hey Kaz, Unfortunately I am not at home currently and wont be for a few more months so I do not have access to my files or CAD. And at this point I prefer to keep the files to myself as I want to potentially make a few more pairs and see if they will sell within the EU before openly marketing them. But the way it's shaped and how small it is, I don't think you can fit both an indicator and a fog light onto the same surround, unless they were very small LED-type clusters.
    • I’ve just installed a Uniclutch sport into my R32. I’ve been blown away by it… it drives like a stock Toyota Corolla. It doesn’t make sense to me that a performance clutch can drive this well. I was about to pull the trigger on a Nismo Coppermix twin plate when I discovered the Uniclutch and decided to give that a shot instead. They’ve changed the game and I couldn’t be happier.    I was previously using an Extreme cushioned button clutch with lightened flywheel. I’m still using the same lightened flywheel with the Uniclutch.
