this why the honesty system can never work, Is it lying if you don't mention the truth? hahaha and if you made it say into the HPI records who would you list as the driver?

I doubt anyone has a problem with the car running the excellent time it did but this thread was congratulating YOU on YOUR 10 sec pass in the car, the least you could of done is been honest back to us

thanks for the support guys, I finally got the pass I wanted, and on my birthday

After you posting what you did above, Its pissed me off a fair bit as I feel you must think we are idiots as you were honestly claiming a time YOU never ran, If you didn't want anyone to know you could of posted yeah its great the car ran a 10 instead of I finally got the pass I wanted

A few times I've actually spoke up for you saying your not a bad person in real life when there has been friction on the forum ... maybe I was wrong

hahaahahaha Buster your a funny dude, i knew that the first time i met you.

But honestly man everyone on the track new that the driver wasnt me, casue i was standing next to the car when it drove off, but when i said " I GOT THE PASS IVE ALWAYS WANTED ON MY BIRTHDAY" i only stated what was true and not a lie, my car owes me a lot of money, and for it to run into the 10s with or without me driving its an acheivment, it doesnt bother me if people got the shits,I was so pumped up last night about the car getting into the 10s, I deserve the congratulations for spending the time and money on the car to get the power i wanted,( a lot of people that were on the track were cheering when the car hit the 10s, i was with them so how did i lie) and another thing its a skyline forum,( its about the cars) not a drivers forum, so even if i wanted to keep a secret , everyone that was taking pics would have noticed it wasnt me driving, and another thing when i drive my car into the 10s will it make a differnce if my mechanic runs 0.2 of a second faster then me on the track, for me it doesnt matter and it shouldnt to you, If i had the chance last night to sit in my car and race with the gas i wouldnt have a problem getting into the 10s. but like i said befor " I GOT THE PASS IVE ALWAYS WANTED".

I'm sure wreckedhead wont mind me posting this here. I think people need to remember who's out there having a go and trying new things and who isn't.

tell me you dont have the shits casue i didnt drive the car, my acheivment was that i had spent the money to get it there, but i understand i didnt mention i wasnt driving, but my car ran a 10 sec pass, i was over the moon

Dude, I meant what I said last night when I called you. I am TOTALLY stoked for you and SERIOUSLY impressed that your car ran the time it did. Since seeing and hearing the car in the flesh from that first street meet you came to, I had no doubt at all of what it was capable of.

Saying that though, you didn't tell me that it was someone else driving the car when it ran the time. I really dont mind who ran the car down the strip as long as you got the time out of it you wanted, but come on mate, you could've mentioned it to me on the phone or even posted it in the forum. It took the rumour mill to start some shit and then people start talking shit and they pull your awesome achievement down because of it.

I'll say again how awesome it is that your car ran a ten and i am soooo happy that someone else I know has a car that tough. I know how keen you must be to get out there and run that time for yourself now that you know for sure it is possible. I'm sure the car has a lot more left in it too.

At the end of the day dude, I posted that thread on SAU to give you props for an awesome achievment but because I didn't know to say you weren't driving, I look like a bit of a goose. People are ALWAYS gonna look for something to pull people down over and this is just the reason they need to do that. I mean, people have been telling me what a wanker I am for running gas instead of changing the std turbo but the people doing the most talking haven't run an 11 have they?!?!!?

I'm so far from pissed off with you. I couldn't be happier. But it really would've been a bit better for everyone if i'd known you weren't driving so I could give you the props and kudos you deserve without these guys picking the run to bits.

I can't wait to see your car caged and slicked up. Don't forget that you'll have to get your ANDRA super street licence now, if not your UDL as the car runs tens.

Remember mate, you're the one out there running the times so f*ck everyone else who isn't.

All the best.

Adrian

thanks adrian, last night when you called i was with all my mates sitting and cheering on the effort of the driver, it seriously didnt even pop into my head that i didnt mention that i was driving or not, when i saw the time screen showing 10.815 the whole night was a blur to me, i was so happy for myself with all the time spent on and in the car i didnt care who was driving it. i just hope someone got it on video. and i got my andra licence from the last time i got into the 11's. and for those peole who try to pull you down for your efforts being the driver or not, well all i have to say is come to the creek, bring your car down, and have some fun instead of bagging people on the forum

I didn't mean to try and take you down, I've said several times now congrats on the awesome time, my way of thinking was awesome your car ran a 10, awesome that Alex drove it even but not awesome at all giving the impression that Alex's time was yours as by saying you'll scan the timeslip for the drag times its what you were doing

on a more cheerful note all the best beating his time, you'll have to drive the car like its someone else's hahaha :)

Congrats wreckedhead, I agree that it was a bit sad that you misled everyone, but hopefully you'll get back out there and beat the 10.8!

damn i said it befor i didint mislead anyone nor do i care what most people think, the car ran a 10.8 if you were driving it merli it would still be my 10 second pass.

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
