Wreckhead your a moron, openly flaunting that you will change plates and run a non andra approved cage, to get around the safety ban, in a forum which an andra official moderates?

With street slicks and any more power the gearbox will last one meet max, but hey as long as your mate drives it and gets YOUR time who cares.

I wish there wasn't safety bans, would make natural selections job a lot easier.

No mate, you're the moron. Let me give you a flash back to 12 months ago when I was told the following:

Nitrous and the standard turbo won't go together and it'll last 'one meet max'. You keep racing your car like that and it'll last 'one meet max'. Burnouts like that will break your gearbox/diff/motor/arse etc and it'll last 'one meet max'.

Whilst I agree that that it's a farking bad idea to change plates and race again without UDL and ANDRA approved cage, I think you're over-stepping the mark a bit by saying that his box will break. Also, anyone wishing natural selection takes it's course by killing other forum members at the track has no place on this forum discussing anything. If you think I'm joking, run that past PranK and see what he thinks about it. I could save you the time though.....re-read the above paragraph.

Jeez!

Everything always has to come back to you right? Its gotta be about you?

That is my quote, i dont see anything about killing or anything, it was tongue in cheek at best.

You might want to get over yourself.

Don't lose sight of the fact that the car ran hard into the tens. That's really good. Congratulations for that feat; it's not easy to do.

This is a drag racing subforum. Therefore people who come here like drag racing. Running a ten in a street car is a big deal. Let's give credit where it's due.

some people just dont realise the dedication and money which is spent to get where you want, but its ok, rb20wagon runs 9s i think. as for me being a moron, i think you should stop breathing in the wind as i think your bad breath has finally got to your head.

Emre: That's with the assistance of nitrous, which lowers 60 foot times dramatically, even with a so-so launch.

Well... I can't get my head around that one.

60 foot times are directly related to the level of traction you have. How does nitrous reduce your 60 foot times into 1.59 on 18 inch semi-comps...? And this bloke is complaining about the lack of traction !

Im not going to reply any more after this, because its just a shitfight, so ill make it brief

If you ran a 9 and tried to brake / evade saftey regulations, you would still be a moron. I havent run a 9, my best is a 12.55 @ 113 in my car, with about 290 rwhp.

If you saw the Drag combat special on tv on perth, it was the car that came second to Got Boost. How fast your car is or what you have or havent done to it has nothing to do with the saftey regulations which was my original post.

shuuurrrruppppp already, you and your regulations, im sick of your complaining.

why dont you mind your own business and if im going to break the rules, well thats good for me, why do you give a f*ck if i do or not, people break rules every day, for example speeding, burnouts, racing, shit like that, at least im in a enviroment where i can only do damage to myself, see ya

WERD Emre the 60ft time is nothing less then awesome' date=' I compared it with the HPI list and its 3rd best in that class and thats against some pretty fierce competition so with some decent drag radials it will be very interesting to see what it will do[/QUOte/']

1 month to go

Lack of traction with a 1.59 60 footer? Right... whatever :( I guess some people just like to make excuses no matter how good a time they run...

"Oh bro.. That was on low boost..."

"Wait till I turn on my solid fuel rocket engine!!"

I think that traction issues would be minimal with a 1.59 60 footer. Anyway, as you know, even with all 4 wheels spinning on a GTR launch, it's still scrambling forward at a great rate of knots, so the extra torque from the nitrous launch would only aid this :(

merli if you were there you would know, if you wernt there dont talk please, watch the video.

people with slow cars always try to pull the fast cars down with them tomake thmselves fell beter. not happy jan

I did watch the video... I saw no "traction issues" with the launch

and I agree that people with slow cars always try and pull the faster people down... That applies to all aspects of life as well. But I'm not trying to pull anyone down, so I'm not sure what you're getting at?

Faaarrk... this sounds like a biyatches club!

All I can say is, well done for the time! I couldn't care who was driving, it's all about the car right? And wreckhead if you wanna risk running again and not complying with the regulations, well that's up to you... if you're happy to take that risk, and the officials practice the regulations.

Anyway, I wanted to ask yo'll about what Merli mentioned running NOS off the line?? How is this possible? Is it a small shot eg; 30hp?

And you might want to get a farking clue, pal. Tongue in cheek or not it is in incredibly poor taste and i'd prefer you just shut the hell up in future.

Errr... as soon as you nail it off the line, the nitrous kicks in. Remember that nitrous gives you the same amount of power/torque @ 4000rpm as it does at 8000rpm so no waiting for turbos to spool before the power's there.

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
