I just did a service, changed spark plugs, oil and oil filter and flushed out my coolant 12 times before it came out clear.

but now when I took it for a drive, the rpms go up and down between 800-1000 when I switch the headlights on, constantly going up and down.

what gives? Why am I always unlucky like this

Apexi power fc and OEM injectors. Injector 6 is right below the AAC valve hoses, and I had them leak onto it before. The injector is dirty on the outside. I think either the nipple on the AAC valve is corroded as hell or the hose is leaking. Could it be when I did it 12 flushes it would’ve forced more out and leaked onto injector six?

also I’d like to add that when I was changing the spark plugs, a part of the coil pack housing plug broke on cylinder 4, but it is still clipped in sitting tight. But I think this is unrelated

im just saying this happened straight after the service

99% it is the IACV.

Hmm, did all the sludge block the IACV you reckon?

so taking off the whole unit, what do you recommended cleaning it with? Contact cleaner, degreaser or carbi cleaner? How, just lace the insides with the spray? Also can it simply be removed and put back on without having to readjust anything?

I'd also consider wrapping that broken part of the coil plug with some insulation tape....to be sure to be sure!!!

Too late I already put it all back together. It’s a pain to get to the spark plugs on RB’s. Hopefully it holds out for the next six months. Then when I’m changing the spark plugs again I’ll get a new plug. Don’t know why I just didn’t wrap some electrical tape when I plugged it back in. I was thinking about it but didn’t do it. Only after I put it all together I thought that I should’ve . Sometimes when something is done you access your work then wonder why you didn’t do a particular thing. Is there a word for that sensation?

on the other hand,I took off and cleaned out my iacv . But I haven’t started the car yet, so it got dark. I’ll see if it worked tomorrow

Well cleaning out the iacv valve didn’t change anything. Could the plug on the coil pack be related to my issue? Is there any fuse or relay that it could be related to?(r34 gtt 25detneo)

also I noticed a ticking noise coming from the coil pack cover area. I think it may be arching? If you look from the top of the plug, only half of the top part of the plug is broken

I still haven’t solved this problem and it’s driving me crazy. I can’t even take my car out at night. Here are some things that I had a look at:

- IACV. I cleaned it. Didn’t fix the problem

- changed the broken coil pack plug. Didn’t fix the problem

- checked the maf wires. Nothing broken

- checked CAS wires. Nothing broken

- was told it could be a faulty water temp sensor. Disconnected it. Didn’t change anything

Like I said the idle fluctuates when I turn the lights on only, rpm fluctuates and voltage keep fluctuating between 13.5v-14.6v. When I turn off it sits at a healthily 14.3v

Can anyone please lead me to the right direction?could be alternator or reg be on its last legs?

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
