R35 brakes for sure, that’s what I went for, for functional and looks, got my set with new oem rotors and dixel pads. 380mm rear and 390mm fronts, just me mindful it will limit your wheel options

Is a R35 GTR BBK still a 15K adventure? Are there cheaper options available for this as an aside? After looking for replacement pads for my kit - OEM BBK's for pad selection seem great blah blah blah.

Are there any other options?

I am going to buy a R33 upright, then will buy a set of those Z1 350Z to 370Z dog bones and see how much I need to mill off the dogbone to allow the Akebono caliper to fit on. Another option is to space out the dogbone, which might require more work.

I am not sure how thick the R34 GT-t upright caliper mounting tabs are, as this will influence how everything sits. The caliper essentially needs to sit at the same height as the original calipers.

Great! So this is a 355/350 kit with Nissan OEM bolting onto my R34 with all of the pad options that an OEM car can provide instead of Attakd/G4/Ksport (which are all slightly different) trying to cross reference fkin everything. With OEM dust boots.

In other words, exactly what I was hoping for!

Do the calipers cost 10K+ like R35 GTR ones?

If that's the case, I might as well not bother buying things to experiment with :D

If I were you, I would buy them now before every man and his dog does. A full set of Akebono can be had about the $1500 mark used.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
