Stupidly the used import plate got defected when i was respraying the bay i ended up removing it not thinking much of it now i understand the entire car is voided and can't be registered without that sticker.

I've been trying to read there might be a chance if i can find the original shop that approved it to get another one

It's got a Workshop No.

&
An Approval number, Can't find much with that though. I've looked up the numbers and all and can't find any search results with it

Please tell me i'm not fu*ked here....

I was reading this and it states a used import plate must be metal so why are some purple? I've seen plenty of pictures online with them being purple

Purple anodised aluminium is metal.

I would suggest, unless you can actually get ahold of the original import workshop, you are indeed screwed. Most of the old shops are long closed.

Ahh okay it's like a purple plastic sticker tho

Dam that really sucks to hear.. The company only shut down 1 year ago they have changed names and are doing other related testing & services but it does not look like automotive

Wow so if i don't have luck with these guys this car is now worthless because of this stupid sticker?

I have another question i have another imported car that i brought registered and i'm trying to search both up on the website "http://raws.infrastructure.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubVehSearch.asp"

Neither of my imported cars are coming up on the website

I got a friend to check his imported car and it came up straight away..

Any idea why neither are coming up?

Does the car have an Australian vin number stamped onto it or plate (silver stainless) with said number riveted on? Has the car been previously registered and what state. I have heard people of getting imports re registered with missing import plates in certain states (not sure which) if the car had previously been registered in that state and had Aus vin.

I would contact your state authority and tell them the situation. Might take a few goes to actually find someone there who isn't a numpty and knows what they're on about.

What car is it by the way?

Early imports had metal compliance plates, later ones (around 2010on) had the purple sticker.

There should be two plates. Pink plastic plate is the compliance sticker. The metal plate is the new Australian VIN number (6U9000-ECR33XXXX) which should pinned on top of the old japanese vin on the firewall.

In your situation i would recommend contacting a local compliance workshop. explain your situation and they might be able to liase with DOTARS and issue a new sticker for a fee of course.

Someone just told me in Victoria he got new import plate for 2 cars that the import plate was defected

Yes it has a build plate & A separate Vin plate (both stainless)

Yes i've been previously registered in QLD.

I have 2 imports here one is a 95 which has a green metal import plate, my other car is a 97 which has a purple sticker import plate which i'm looking at getting that one replaced.

I guess i'll have to ring around, Do i just start with like Department of QLD?
With that being said, I've got 2 imports here and i looked up both VINS here - http://raws.infrastructure.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubVehSearch.asp

Neither come up lmao. Both have been registered before

I got my friend to check his import and it came up, So now i'm really confused. I guess i'll be calling the Gov about both of my cars.

Yep i've got a build plate + a Long vin number separate plate + Import purple sticker

Yep i've got to call around for sure. Thanks so much i am really stressing over this. This will be a very very costly mistake if i can't fix it.

My stagea doesn't come up on that link when i search by rego, did come up for VIN only.

I would contact DOTARS, not state, because it is the feds who issued the plates

Atleast it came up i did both my cars via VIN and nothing.

Yeah okay, thankyou i'll give it a go

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
