ok guys due to a discussion with a few of us in the members rides thread, it seems that an SAU-ACT photshoot will be a nice idea.

basically we just need as many of us as possible to get together so we can take some group photos of our rides (and us). :)

so we will need to find a good time so that lots of us can come (e.g. not at 11am on a tuesday lol) perhaps something like latish afternoon on a weekend as the sun will be highlighting the cars nicely and most of us will be able to make it.

so we will need to decide:

Time:

Location: best spots or locations for photos?

also does anyone have good equipment? or r u good at photography? if anyone is then we'd be happy to have you there to take pics. my sister-in-law is a graphic designer and has access to some really nice printing equipment so perhaps i can get some really nice, big, glossy prints made up after and give them out on a following meet?

anyway, feel free to put up your ideas and oppinions. lets make it a really nice one!!! :(

Andrew.

p.s. yes Gts_Duy: you can bring the seca lol!!!

For sure, loving the idea.

I've got a decent camera, not great, but okay. Has taken many a photo in 1600x1200 resolution, absolutely fine for online purposes, but not so good if you want these high-res glossies.

Anyway, great idea, we can hit up a BBQ, cruise, and photos in one day.

Is anyone particularly NOT free any weekend?

I'm screwed for almost every Saturday,so Sundays are naturally better...Having said that,I might be lucky enough to have the second weekend in September as my rostered weekend off.Maybe a day polishing/detailing on Sat',photo's and cruise on Sun'?Either way,I'm in if it's Sunday Setember 12th!

i reckon i'd be up for that. A chance to meet you all again and have alook at all the purrty cars. also i think the weekend of the 11th 12 sounds good as i've already got it off work and my b-day is the 13th  . party on the saturday night and a mad cruise on the sunday, wat a sick b-day this is gonna be. :)

yep, sounds sweet for me, i cant beleive the coincidence that your birthdays are on the 13th september....mine is on the 27th of april!!!!! how weird!!!!

lol Angus if u need a ride i should be able to take you, unless u live in woop woop, in that case i suggest u hitch-hike and take a ride from a stranger :headspin:

I don't have a Skyline but can I come along for the cruise???

i dont have a car and i'll be coming (i hope)

and andrew (veilside 33) umm yeah a lift would be nice, but ill ask my parents again and get back to you. Ohh and i live in chisholm.

ohh and whytry ill take that comment bout mine and your age as a compliment, as im glad im finally 15 :headspin:

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
