As a member of SAU-Vic if im approaching a place where i source parts from am i free to start discussing support of the club? Sew the seed, measure interest? Or shut up and suggest it to someone on the committee?

I ask because next week im off to get some new pads from Race Brakes and in Sydney they do a stella job of supporting the SAU boys & gals. So makes sense if everybody sources their RB74s, Pagids, DBAs, AP gear from them then we could as a club benefit.

Or is there a better palce down here in Vic for brakes?

Sponsorships are being handled by the committee, as we have made up a proposal brochure to present to potential sponsors. This explains all aspects of the club and outlines our goals.

Myself and Shan (funky money) are handling this, but as a committee we have so far decided (this may change) to hold off sponsors till later this year or early next year. This is to ensure that all other aspects of the club have been taken care of and are operating smoothly. It is also good to show potential sponsors that after only "X" amount of days/months we have "YYY" amount of members. I would also like to present a previous newsletter, just to show some form of documentation.

Please feel free to pass on the names and contact details to Shan, or myself, for any potential sponsors. Then as a committee we will decide wether we want SAU Vic to be associated with that particular company and pursue it as required.

PS: Race Brakes has been on the "potential list" for a while :).

We will all be grateful for any other suggestions.

Yer, sponsors are coming before the official start year of the club (2005-Feb)

there are heaps of potentials that have been spoken too, i've certainly spoken to 3-4 places anout various things.

More to come in due time i think is far to say on that, but leave it to the committee :)

Be nice if the car was actually in Australia though Dave :)

I've mentioned in passing what is going on with the club and got some good interested responses so Shan has the details. While the guys on the commitee do a great job, our help can't hurt because we are all in a position to benefit.

Geoff, we would appreciate all the help that members have to offer. But it is better to pursue potential sponsors with all the infomation. We encourage all members to scout around and establish wether the company may be interested, then inform them that you will pass their details on to the committee and one of us will organise a meeting and finalise the details.

We are all working towards improving SAU Vic and providing the best deals for SAU Vic members :D

which shits me to tears because I currently have 6 sponsors keen as hell to sponsor us, and the more we delay the more they look somewhere else. I've already lost the interest of one sponsor when I told them we wouldn't be taking any sponsor deals till next yr (they now sponsor full-lock). Getting best deals for members my arse. But then again... committee decisions have to be adhered to right?

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
