Random pull overs.. when were you last pulled over?

Recommended Posts

I guess it comes down to what your car looks like and how loud it is. I have been trying to keep a stealth look about my car, but at the end of the day, it's a skyline. No matter what you do it will always be one and for that reason we will always be picked on. I think there are a few things that aid in not being targetted as much:

1. No stickers, huge wings, neons and assorted colourful rice

2. Use the factory rims or some subtle rims (not huge bling bling work 19's with 1 ft of dish)

3. Keep your window tint at 35%

4. Don't boost the crap out of your car at every chance

5. Get rid of your bov and use plumb back goodness/or learn to balance ur throttle

6. Don't have your stereo blarring at 150db

7. A reasonable ride height, dont have your coilies wound down on the stoppers

8. Huge bodykits and monster bonnet scoops are begging for attention

9. And most importantly i believe... DO NOT ESTABLISH EYE CONTACT WITH THE POLICE!!!

But this is just my opinion. And i am guilty of a few above mentioned which i would like to change (eg height and tint). If anyone wants to add to this...

If only that were true, the vast majority of time I haven't been on a cruise, and just been sitting in traffic. The cops single me out from all the rest, just cause it's an import:(

thats just what i'v found mate

the last 2 cruise's i went on really put me off going to them in the future.

one was a ppcc cruise where the carpark was blocked off by the cops and ever car was checked. same night but japspec cruise coppers blocked off the exit of the carpark but this time didn't check all the cars only an odd few. other then those times i'v never had problems

No skyline, but about a week after I received a yellow, I was pulled over twice in one night, a Thursday night, in the space of ten minutes! Wasn't doing anything terrible, just driving about.

Coming out of Kings Park, I was "Random Lic Checked & RBT'd" on the main road, then drove down towards Ent Cent carpark and right onto Wellington and pulled over again for "RBT" and yellow sticker check - which teh first cops didn't bother to do. So I dobbed. HA!

Random pullovers: Two, both in fremantle, one when the day after I picked the car up, and the other just last year.

Scarbs, Freo are hotspots, and I wouldn't go near them if I wanted to most of the time. It's like playing russian roullette(sp?) with the yellow-adhesive-love :)

I'm all for not making eye contact with the police, stuff like that can make them do a U-turn :D

I got done twice in the last two weeks, in freo and on canning highway exiting to perth, both resulted in the cops pulling out their compliance books before even asking if I had permits, which I did.

Wankers...

Hmmmmm...

I went through a bad patch for about 3 months where I was constantly getting pulled over in differnt suburbs. It annoyed me to the point where I would keep my yellow lickies on right up until it expired the next day, just so cops wouldnt continualy go through my car.

I got pulled up on the fwy one night (not speeding) the cop gets off his bike checks my license, then goes over to my yellow & checks the date on it, looks @ me & says "Was just checking it hadn't expired"... ??!!

Had another cop pull me over, pulled up next to me in a car park, doesnt even get outta the car, shines the torch on my windscreen from the inside & just says "oh, you already have one"

Dont take my car out much on w/e's & @ nite now...

hahaha lol.gif

that's true lazy pig style

only ever been pulled up in freo for having my driving lights on. Other than that, was pulled up last month only to have the cop tell me my car was STOLEN! When i got out the car, turns out it was my best mate's cousin who pulled me over and was just givin me shit. hahaha :D

hahaha that's hell harsh! it'd be funny from the cop's p.o.v anyway! but i'd be whacked!

got checked for me license once coming home from uni at like, 2am... other than that, rbts only thus far *also touches wood*

made some point beofre about keeping your car stock from the outside, beefed on the inside, i guess this thread reinforces it somewhat :)

i had a cop scream at me i was a hoon repeatedly when i was pulled over :D "Going to drive like a hoon you'll get treated like a hoon" ..... then he got in his car n drove off and im like "what tha?"

Oh well about to Rice the car up a bit so i'll see what happens .... at the moment im pretty much left alone by the cops yellow stickie wise - i think they are more shocked by my driving than the car :)

i get pulled over all the time, i got pulled over every day for 5 days straight and resulted in a yellow by the end of it....

mandurah is the worst for cops and them targeting us :)

aggreed

they pulled me over 5 times in 1 night once

this new guy in town with a black 33 gtr is sueing the cops for harrasment

Mandurah is the worst for cops.....

first on and only time was last saturday at lunch time on St georges terrace.

cop was at the lights outside sheraton hotel. my works DR site is in the sheraton i was heading over to change the backup tapes.

i was 3 cars back on the lane next to the one the cops where in. lights go green cops pulls into a loading zone, waits for me to park then lights siren zoom up ans screech stop next to me.

resulted in a yellow for tyres, pod stiff suspension. random car check they say.

just a note to everyone.

make sure your v/n number is stamped on your car. mine wasn't couldn't get the yellow off till it was stamped. (the place i bought it from cut corners apparently)

yeah i am gettn pulled over all the time..... like atleast once every 2 weeks..... i have had all hte excuses... like.. did u know u were speeding (when i wasnt and he knew it), to u know u have a broken headlight (which i do nad one day i am gonna say "shiit howd that happen") and RBT, lic check, and everytime they have looked under the bonet nad seen the BOV (the ONLY mod to my car, i know it suks) they havea all said have a nice day sir... bastards..

do they havea nothing bettter to do....

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
