is it just me, or is anyone else sick of the crap about drifting??

everywhere i look: drift this, drift that, you like drifting?, i drifted..., blah blah blah

sorry, have to bitch about it somewhere...

ok yeah its fun throwing the car sideways around a corner every now and then, but seriously... making it a sport?? i mean come on who actually takes their car to a track and drifts? 1 out of every 50 people!

i mean i read HPI and like the articles and cars and stuff but this drift is really starting to shit me.

Oh and while i'm here, i hate it when people talk about drifting like they do it all the time! BS you do, and if so then you are a hoon and get off my roads!

I know i will get flamed for this but what happened to good old racing? i LIKE traction... it makes me go faster!

I HATE DRIFT!!!!

Waz.

PS... I HATE DRIFT!

PPS... I have a headache now

lmao... i think i know what ur talking about.

posers... people in homodores who think because they floor it out of a corner and fishy down the road that they are drifting...

real drifting is great to watch... i love it... soon i will be partaking in it once the car is completely setup... some people like it some dont...

then again u just might not like it all together... so be it

i hate F1 i think its the ***in gayest thing in the world... "omg he rocks! he done the same thing for 2 hours on the same circuit" same with V8 supercars... the only track racing i like watching is the GTP cause theyre more aggressive and its nice and short

theres only one true motor sport which requires huge amounts of skil and talent and thats rallying... even F1 drivers a super touring drivers who have tried rallying admit they just dont know how these guys can do it at such high speeds.

your opinions are yours to keep and treasure and will always be ur opinions... i dont see why u should be flammed for it.

im sort of with you on this, especially when i see magazines like HPI and SPEED having whole issues dedicated to it, sure a bit of sideways is fun, but i would much rather the rush of traction. I mean even the americans are drifting now, so that says alot about the 'sport'. BTW i also hate the strawberry face conversions, black roofs, t-wings and stickers associated with drift....but i luv the spoilerless, deep dish rims, carbon fibre bonnet look.

so u like some rice... but dont like others... lol

each to their own.

HPI have their own drift mag now and i would hardly call the 10 page spread or whatever it was on drift in speed a "dedicated" issue.

and the americans have been doing it well before we were... same with the kiwis

I took the 4wd shaft out of my Tamiya Big Wig so that i could drift.... that makes me the father figure of drift in this country.... ;)

ROFL!

You can't deny a bit of sideways action is fun on the track. If you haven't tried it then maybe you would I guess...:)

Hahahaah Big Wig and Test Drive II, I think we had the same childhood Roy...

Drifting has it's benefits, it rids the world of S13's which can only be a good thing.

Also it is environmentally sound, it takes the tyres that we waste and uses the

rest of the rubber.

But yes, the main bad thing about drift is the Punch Koala™!

I gave up on F1 when I heard an F1 fan call it the car racing version of "the grand championship of chess".

I guess drift is not for everyone. But there must be enough following for it to have it's own mag in Aus now.

Personally I like the fact that the D1 drifters spend so much money on parts and paint and then go crash into the wall. And the fact that on one of the HPI videos or mags there is a drift group called "garage junks".

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
