Have done the tune for awhile now but forgot to add on this sticky thread. Anyway, here are the mods and dyno sheet:

- Stock ECU

- TrueFlo panel filter (same as K&N)

- X-Force turbo back 3" exhause

- Hybrid copy FMIC

- 500hp fuel pump

- TurboTech bleed valve (from forum)

- SAFC

- Turbo: was told by Matt (Hitman) that it could be a R34 one coz made abit more power than stock R33 turbo with similar mods

with the above mods it made 212rwkw @ about 12 psi

without SAFC and at 9 psi it pushed 179 rwkw

My dyno result

Apexi cyclone filter

Gutted Cat

3" Blitz Mandrel from cat back

Solenoid switch on for 1 run, off for the other

I was told the big dip in torque is the cam change over?

But saying that I used to have terrible missfire problems before I regapped to 0.76mm, maybe I just hid this problem???

Any ideas on what turbo I want to get 460+HP at the flywheel (my cal should be at least 400 HP at the wheels), going to buy that and put it on (my mate needs my turbo ASAP for his RB20DET) then hit the fuel & ECU early next year

Hi guys, just came back from a tune at tilbrooks in adelaide by martin.

Tune was done at 16psi....at first we got 240 rwkw at 18psi but i decided to settle for 235rwkw @ 16psi as martin the tuner said r33 conrods and internals will not last too long will too high boost.

Mods are in my signature :)

My car is at chasers at the moment fitting and tuning a few things :(

I'm excited to see what the power output would be when I pick it up later this afternoon!! I would be happy with atleast 200rwkw's for now..

I already have the following:

- K&N Pod Filter

- HKS Intercooler

- Turbosmart Bleed Valve @ 10psi

- Custom 3" front/dump pipe

- Hi-Flow Cat

- 3.5" HKS Super dragger cat-back

I'm having the following installed today -

- Z32 AFM

- Nismo 740cc Injectors

- Bosch 040 Fuel Pump

- Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator

- Apexi PFC

- Raise boost to 12psi

Will let you all know how it goes..

Got it back last night and I was pretty happy with the cars performance - with the stock turbo I managed 209.4rwkws :)

My dyno result for my R32 with an RB25 series 2 motor.

Engine management: Apexi Power FC

-Boost ran: 15psi

-Fuel used: BP Ultimate (98 octane)

-engine mods:

- Z32 AFM

- Sard 550cc injectors

- Aftermarket fuel pump (not sure what it is, but definately aftermarket)

- HKS Front mount intercooler

- Greddy induction kit

- Trust TD06-20g turbo

- Trust High mount exhaust manifold

- Greddy external wastegate with screamer pipe

- 3" exhaust from turbo back with high flow cat

Got 251.4rwkw's

The tune is not very agressive but that's what I wanted as the motor is internally stock from what I can tell. Also has 2 way LSD and Tein HR coilovers.. mmmmm

Here is the dyno chart:

Any opinions? Please reply in here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=8&t=93111&st=0 (help keep this thread clean)

Greg

Just got my car dyno'd the other day, not to sure if this is correct but car pulled 198rwkw on about 9.5psi boost. The motor feels like it runs heaps hot when i pop the bonnet after driving for a litttle bit (compared to my mates) but the tuner said its fine. Gonna take the car back as i heard it pinging today at the top end of 3rd gear

R32 with RB25det s2

Engine management: standard

turbo: standard

Boost ran: 9.5psi

Fuel used: BP Ultimate

engine mods:

hybrid gt-spec front mount

3" turbo back system

pod filter

Iridium plugs

aftermarket LSD

Anyone got any opinions on why its running so hot

post-23954-1131007918.jpgpost-23954-1131008077.jpg

Got my car dyno'd today at Tilbrook auto & dyno just to make sure everything was fine and the other dyno reading was correct. To my suprise it was, they said the motor is a bit of a freak and pulled 191rwkw on 9psi. Tried to run more boost but couldnt as the 3bolt gasket has gone on the turbo and wont hold any more boost. Cars not pinging anymore, must have been some bad fuel. The torque figures on the old dyno chart are calculated in some way, to find the actual value you have to divide by some value im not to sure.

Mine's finally running properly and has been tuned. It only took most of the year.

R32 gtst with RB25DET

PFC

s6 rx7 550cc injectors

Frontmount, pod, pump, yadda

Hks cast manifold, Hks T300s turbo and 38mm hks ex wastegate (plumbed back)

3-3.5inch exhaust (depending which end you look at)

Running optimax

238.8rwkw at 20psi

Hey ppls.

Got my car back fom Race Pace today.

As you can see, we made 250 rwkw ar 14 psi.

wouldn't take any more timing or boost.

it's great to drive.

Power making mods:

GCG high flow

poncams 20 x 9.15 lift

full exhaust and other normal mods.

post-6399-1132188138.jpg

I also picked my car up today, so I thought I'd share my results

R33 GTS25t (Standard Internals)

GCG GT3040R (0.82 exhaust housing)

Turbonetics 40mm external wastegate

HKS Exhaust Manifold

Nismo 555cc injectors

Walbro Fuel Pump

Blitz LM FMIC

Greddy Profec B Spec II EBC

Apexi Power FC

Splitfire Ignition Coils

HKS Adj Ex Cam gear

Z32 AFM

Apexi Power Intake

3" turbo back exhaust w/hi flow cat

282.9 kw @ 17psi

I think there's probably still more power to be made, but I really didn't want to push for any more with standard internals. The tune was kept a little rich in the top end to try and keep it safe. Overall, the setup isn't as laggy as I thought it would be (starts making boost around 3500rpm with 17psi by 4400rpm) so you could say i'm very happy with the results - MRC in Castle Hill did a great job :P

Tial 38mm external wastegate

Stock Manifold, w/ spacer

Nismo 740cc injectors

Walbro Fuel Pump

Sard FPR

Hybrid Monster FMIC

Greddy Profec B Spec II EBC

Apexi Power FC

Standard Ignition Coils

Z32 AFM

K&N air filter

3.5" turbo back exhaust w/hi flow cat

274.1 kW @ 16psi

Full boost at 3800rpm.

Initially tuned by Ken @ Incar Motorsports, then finely tuned by Ben @ UAS (he rocks).

Carlos from Incar Motorsports did an awesome job on the install.

and here's the new graph overlayed on my old setup (stock turbo, injectors, and AFM)

I'm missing some power below 3800 rpm compared to the stock turbo. But eh... I'm loving the power above this!

dynoGT30rPSIoverlayed_on_20_small.jpg

edit: forgot to mention that Carlos from Incar Motorsport had everything fabricated and installed in 4 days.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
