mine are attached at the joint of the A pillar and the door trim, attached to the door trim. They are drilled in via a screw (the round kenwood tweeters. Was already like that when the car came over from Japan.

From what i have been told from the guys at westside, you want the tweeters as high as possible. Obviously where it doesn't look like shit, but base of the A pillar seems a popular choice. Have seen some real nice installs where the tweeters have a moulded cover over them to hide then and make the tweeter look more integrated as if it was stock

Thanks, I mounted them on that triangle behind the mirrors too.

got it done easily, I havn't had the time to disconnect the stock tweeters properly yet. so Right now I have 4 tweeters blasting at me. Heh Surprisingly its not really that noticable and still sounds great.

umm actually i think some of u guys have the wrong impression about sound installs ... tweeters that are placed high up aren't in the best possible spot ... the spot next to the A pillar is easy to do, i used to have mine there, but if u notice, depending on the tweeter, it can sound harsh to very harsh, and the seperation distance from the woofer would not offer you the best sound. however if you place your tweeter there and it sounds ok then i guess you shoudlnt' change it.

The best possible placing is to be as close as you can to the woofer, and also the speakers should be as far as possible to the listener which is why alot of professional installs get done in the kickpanel because thats really as far as u can get the front staging of the install to be. however its a big ask cause its very hard to do. So when i installed my sound system again when i had the skyline, i just cut a hole in the door panel and put the tweeter there, to me it sounded better cause the very high frequencies werent' so dominant anymore.

just my opinion. :(

I think having tweeters in the R33 range was a factory option.

My old series1 had factory tweeters, however, my series2 doesn't.

I was going to mount some tweeters in the factory location as I was doing a stealth install. But there is no space behind the A-pillar trim. The factory tweets are tiny thin.

I recently installed sme infinity componets in a friends R32 and mounted the tweets in the triangle behind wing mirrrors.I angled the tweets towards and sligtly up to the windscreen - ie.the tweets were pointing to the windscreen.

The result was bloody good, very good mid/high transition and a fantastic high soundstage that didn't sacrifice to much frequency seperation.

Normally I preach from the "keep tweets close to mids" gospal, but in this case I thought it sounded great.I would definatley recommend trying tweets in lots of different positions as it can make the music sound very different,so try an see what your ears like.

Hope this helps anyone else who is wondering about tweeter locations.

who are you asking?

if it is me, the tweets were fired across the wind screen, sorta like a reverse crossfire setup, so the music from the tweets was pretty even.A lot less biased to one side compared to having them pointing to occupants.

That article is extremely infomative, great for people wo are starting to get into car audio hard out.

    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
    • Did you even watch the video? Its not a steering wheel.
