I would like to get some other ppls experances of having to use smash repairs.

We know it happens to even the best of drivers. Mine has been of the road for close to 9 months now and the work is Pathetic nothing lines up properly, runs in the paint, extreamly bad customer service, like saying i own them for buffing the car, and I had to find the parts, the whole thing has been a nightmare from day one when really i should drop the car off and then get it back in perfect condition and not find the worst work and find out they wont fix it. Then to top it off he makes me look like a prick, and after having the car there for a while I find out that other skylines have been in there and a week later there front bar falls off. WTF. There is a lot lot lot more to this story but it would never fit in here, and I dont want to swear all over the thread. Now i am worried that the prick will do something to my car if he sees it.

same with my car. i have taken her to several places and none have done a good job. my fault for finding the cheaper places but still the work they did is shocking and i got into a fight with one of the workers cause they tried getting more money out of me

yea i knew that. im uninsured (mates crashed my car twice(both times i was drunk and wasnt paying attention. long story)) so i had to find cheap places. the second time i took it to a poplular workshop and it took them months to fix and it still looks dodgy. so i dunno where i would go next. hopefully i wont have to take her anywhere again

no i dont need any more headacks i just found out that the job that was done will prob have to be done again some other time to fix what was ment to be fixed in the first place, if you understand that good.

It took 10 months, three attempts and two workshops to get some minor accident damage repaired. By the 3rd attempt it was at a different smash repairer. It's better than the previous place, but still some things that need to be fixed up (buffing of paint runs and paint pimples).

Insurance company and assesor appeared to lose interest with my predicament after a while and nothing happened, but after kicking up a bit of a stink in a polite way things finally got done.

race_snooze, it didn't happen to be a repairer in Mitchell by any chance? I've discovered a number of people since my car went to them that had their cars with them and were unhappy with the work, and unimpressed with their attitudes towards customer's cars.

It sure was in mitchell, same thing as what happen to you the asser didnt care about the job, he has now sold the bussness I think he was in with the smash repaires making a shit load of money out of it.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
