OK - seeing as the Vic Event section does not look like its coming back anytime soon and we have a weekend to organise. Here it is again:

WINTON FUN DAY DETAILS - Sunday 19 December 2004

Cost: $20

Time: Gates open at 8am. Track opens 9:30 - 5

What you need:

A car (road registered- Doesn't need to be race prepared, any car will do)

A Helmet (any Road approved helmet is fine -motor bike/car/track/postie, etc)

Full length fire resistant clothing. ie: Cotton long sleave top/shirt, Jeans. Full cover footing.

Note: No Cams Liscense required.

Session Times:

Each session is for 30 minutes. Alternating between:

1 session with 1 passenger

1 session without.

It is not timed, so there is no pressure.

ACCOMMODATION

I have booked us 3 apartments at the Park View Motor Inn, 56 Ryley Street, Wangaratta. Each apartment cost $145/night for 5 people and each apartment has 3 singles and 1 double bed. Park View has a BBQ, Pool, Off-street Parking, and a huge selection of crappy DVD's.

People who need accommodation:

Scotsman (Chris) & 1

Bec

Woz

Chrisman (Scott) &1

Pete

Roy (Troy)

Al & 1

deorbit (Shivam)

AdzMax (Adz) & Dee

rs73 (Rintaro)

Now I know that I have forgotten some people off this list - apologies - please yell out if you need accommodation and I have forgotten you - or if anyone else can remember who was on the list tell me please.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

For the accomodation Chris (aka. Scotsman) was kind enough to place his credit card down as the deposit to secure the rooms.

It works out to be $30/Person for the night.

Rather than stufing around when we get up there, with 15 people standing in the office and a heap of loose change/big notes you have two options:

1. Direct Deposit $30 into Chris's account and he'll chuck it all on credit.

Account details:

063245 00688564 - Mr Christopher R Thomson

Please use your forum name as a description if using Netbanking, and PM me once you sent the money. If paying for two or three please indicate.

OR

2. Make sure you have $30 cash to hand to Chris when we get there and he can just walk straight in there and get it sorted.

This will mean we can get on with the beer and pool. 35 degrees is forecast for Saturday.

Cheers Chris. 0418390299

Ok Bec - you are right. James is driving up on Sunday morning with his Dutton Rally '05 Co-driver (aka - his mum) and a few others and has suggested if anyone else wants to drive up on Sunday morning to meet at the Mobil / Macca's just before the start of the Hume at 7:00am.

Are you guys all blind? lol.

I said - James will be at the Mobil / Macca's just before the start of the Hume at 7:00am on the Sunday. That is the place to meet if you want to drive up together Sunday morning!

No I always skip past your posts Andrew as you never have anything important to say :( lol. jk :)

I might tag along on Sunday morning.. not definite yet, I'm sure it will be a packed track though!

Ok - unfortunately Im out of the Sat night Wang special.

And its all Adz's fault. Due to his car being such a pain the only time Troy has available to pull my box out is Sat night. So I will have to come down with the Sunday morning crew.

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
