Yeah people quoting figures give me the shites unless they are a respected person, so I would prefer to talk in person and you can see the work.

Some more pics for you to look at below. These will be the last prefer to let people come and have a look at it in person. And please people come over and say hello, we dont bite and both me and my dad are only to happy to chat with other import owners.

Exterior shot

VERY DIRTY Interior (Cleaning as you look at this pic)

Anyway fingers crossed we will be out and about in the next few days.

See you all later.

Daniel

true but which one is overall better and ozzes sex appeal immagine jayce you already have a sexy 32 but if it was a 34 you would have the ladies throwing themselfs at you :) (i know your partner wouldnt like it :() + look at all the comments on the bayside blue 34 all the time you see people saying "oh i creamed my pants when i saw it" & "omg i hope that guy can have my babies" haha i havent seen any for the 32 (again granted they can be sexy but not as sexy as the 34)

Ok yes.... R34's are nice, but id Take a 32 ANYDAY!

What you say about the Bayside 34... ill say anyday about SINISTA too.

Oh get over it as if they are the best, the 33's are much better looking. lol

wazzat? there was a skyline in after the 32? not posseeble! surely a company like nissan wouldn't tamper with perfection.

oh hang on...now i remember...it was called a firty free or dirty tree or something...anyway it was an ODD number from memory. unlike the 32 and 34 which are even... or...'balanced'

now me sets the alarm early to go down to kennards and hire me a jackhammer so me can dig a hole fast and deep enough to hide in...

they're all good guys...anything with 4 round tail lights and a skyline badge lites my fire and i hope i haven't offended anyone

Ah,Leechy! I know you're just trying to get a reaction outta me...No,I'd pass on a 34 GTR over a top 32 GTR-that's why I own what I own! However, the 34 would be a close second in desireability! To quote an R34 GTR owner that I personaly conversed with as we sat in our respective rides:"I really love my 34,but to me the real Godzilla is yours-the 32 is the original one..."(cross to me feeling very chuffed, deep down!)-I guess it's all about history and respect! So,back to the topic at present:Shy32R's ride:schweeeeet! And if it's even half the hitter I reckon it may be,we should all pay our repects now!And I agree with Gus:Brides?Oh,yeah!

One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go....................

I'm not in it for the money, and I don't care for flash [show], and I will not leave, so guess I'm ready!!!!!!!!

Go the whaleeeeeeeeee, sperm whale of cause.....lol

lol trident :) and i know what you mean jayce dad wants a 32 gtr so if any of you guys sell tell me as i am sure he wouldnt mind looking at some of yours though he wants a burgandy one. Also myshy32 u should drop into the recovery party at sinista's place so we can have a looksy :)

My dad has just bought a R32 GTR and we are looking to meet other skyline, GTR or nissan owners.

We are going to the summernats for a look this year only show and shine on the oval, but want to meet some other imports people to form a group of imports on the oval.

If your out and about in the ACT and see our car honk or wave or even ask us to pull over as we are keen to meet and chat to other import owners.

Cheers Daniel

Hi Daniel;

I work in the same place as your Dad, met him some time ago and actually had the fortune to cross paths the day the car came to Canberra on a trailer. I was impressed for a range of reasons and I'm sure it will cause a stir, I think you have done exceptionally well in getting it.

Glad to see you on the forums and that you have it registered.

Regards

Scooby/Mark

Yes dad mentioned that he bumped into you out in mitchell. he haid to wipe the drool of the car afterwards he he he he

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. We are going over summernats scruitineering on tuesday if anyone wants to come and say gday or look at the car. We might stop in braddon for a while on the way home as well.

Its one thing to talk about your car and show some pictures but I would rather you guys came and had a look at it in person so you can all be the judge.

I did not mean to start a fight on the BEST looking GTR lol. All I can say is that me and dad could not rob enough banks to buy a R34 so we settled on the R32

Also we will be on the oval on saturday at the summernats so come on over and say hello. Cheers Daniel

everyone can just shutup lol, its an objective question and everyone has different tastes, for me its the 34/32/33 in that order as 33's done do it for me any more.

i think a few of us will be out on weds and thurs in Braddon, i know i will, so come out then if you like.

Hello dudes and dudettes, car has now been cleaned and will be going over scruitineering tomorrow night. After that we will be going into braddon for a while so if you see us on the road or in braddon run us of the road and say hello

ANYWAY if you dont see us out on tuesday we will be out on saturday at the nats on the oval and probably saturday night in braddon.

HOPE TO CATCH UP WITH A FEW OF YOU OVER THE NATS PERIOD.

My name is Daniel and the GREY haired fellow driving it will be my GRANDFATHER no he he my father and his name is WAYNE buit call him WAYNER he he he

Later Daniel

Braddon provides all the entertainment you need, and it's Free! Free!!!!!

    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
    • So, what else.... Power. I don't know what it is making because I haven't done a post tune dyno run yet; I will when I get a chance. It was 240rwkw dead stock. Conclusion from the day....it does not need a single kw more until I sort some other stuff. It comes on so hard that I could hear the twin N1 turbos on the R32 crying, and I just can't use what it has around a tight track with the current setup. Brakes. They are perfect. Hit them hard all day and they never felt like having an issue; you can see in the video we were making ground on much lighter cars on better tyres under brakes. They are standard (red sport) calipers, standard size discs in DBA5000 2 piece, Winmax pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, all from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney. Keeping in mind the car is more powerful than my R32 and weighs 1780, he clearly knows his shit. Suspension. This is one of the first areas I need to change. It has electronically controlled dampers from factory, but everything is just way too soft for track work even on the hardest setting (it is nice when hustling on country roads though). In particular it rolls into oversteer mid corner and pitches too much under hard braking so it becomes unstable eg in the turn 1 kink I need to brake early, turn through the kink then brake again so I don't pirouette like an AE86. I need to get some decent shocks with matched springs and sway bars ASAP, even if it is just a v1 setup until I work out a proper race/rally setup later. Tyres. I am running Yoko A052 in 235/45/18 all round, because that was what I could get in approximately the right height on wheels I had in the shed (Rays/Nismo 18x8 off the old Leaf actually!). As track tyres they are pretty poor; I note GTSBoy recently posted a porker comparo video including them where they were about the same as AD09.....that is nothing like a top line track tyre. I'll start getting that sorted but realistically I should get proper sized wheels first (likely 9.5 +38 front and 11 +55 at the rear, so a custom order, and I can't rotate them like the R32), then work out what the best tyre option is. BTW on that, Targa Tas had gone to road tyres instead of semi slicks now so that is a whole other world of choices to sort. Diff. This is the other thing that urgently needs to be addressed. It left massive 1s out of the fish hook all day, even when I was trying not too (you can also hear it reving on the video, and see the RPM rising too fast compared to speed in the data). It has an open diff that Infiniti optimistically called a B-LSD for "Brake Limited Slip Diff". It does good straight line standing start 11s but it is woeful on the track. Nismo seem to make a 2 way for it.
