After seeing all thats been going on, I don't envy you moderators one little bit!  I think most of you have been doing your best to help sought things out and for that I thank you!

hear hear.

it is hard to be in the scene and not be affected. this story has two definative sides on which you take and not much room to sit on.

quick 2c here. i was really sad on tuesday watching steve walk around the workshop picking up his tools and clearing out the place. 30+ years in the industry and that is the uncerimonial send off he got. its a shame... real shame.

I wasn't suggesting that 2rismo was asking for new mods, I was simply taking a pro-active approach and not intending to start anything or any problems.

I'll drop a note to Christian and see what he says. The offers there, just to offer some fresh meat into the mix

i reckon we should vote on this issue..

One vote per account registered BEFORE the 1st of Jan 2005 with at least 100 posts or something like that

why? coz the ppl who choose the mods should be the ones who use the forums regularly, have been here awhile and those who actually contribute to the discussion..

noble Idea but I dotn think it works because, many people goes through phases, its not fair to just discount people because not showing up or not posting enough, also eveyone is busy with their own time making living.

My posting count went down almost zero... because, really some times I feel its not worth to reply some threads, pointless is the word.

yeah i didnt mean posts per day.. i did say total of 100 posts so if someone cant even make 100 posts on a forum, why would he care about having a say abt it?

i too dont post anymore... i have 6000+ posts tho but ive been here for nearly 3 yrs.. i sure as hell dont want the job but neither do i want the forums to go to shit

make sure you tell us what he says Jason :P

you have opened a can of worms,

I think another apology is due...

why must an apology be made.. this is an issue that im sure many of the forum members feel strongly about and something must be done to ensure that the current batch of mods adhere to strict and transparent code or failing that, a new set of moderators be elected. we might not have the authority as normal members but collectively, i do believe we are able to influence the decisions of the admin into creating a conducive environment for us all

I know what you are saying, but I am not getting bit where "Current batch of mods" ??? I do not know which batch you are refering to but there are only 4 mods in WA.

if feel that "batch" not doing their bit then you should take up with Prank, and inform the persons.

my two won, BTW I was joking Bamie... :(

4 mods in WA = way too much. You bastards lock down every good thread :D *nudge*

We need a mod like Boostzor - the lazy mofo couldn't even be assed lockin down the bitch threads :) (my hero)

Let's see bam - if we had a vote over who got to pick mods, how about people registered on SAU for at LEAST 2 years - that'd see 95% of people inelligible voters and there'd be only one mod again :)

P.S. I am in no way condoning that I want a mod's job - coz as all of you know, it doesn't matter what you do as a mod, you'll always end up the bad guy and there's nothing you can do about it..

P.P.S. I think there should be a "mod school" for mods, ie, learn to not delete posts, not edit posts, but learn how to split and move threads to make the conversation more structured.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
