Okay guys,

it is something that bothers us all as per Robin's post here

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=63254

and as per James suggestion in the same post, I have decided to start up a GTR Badge on a GTS/T Shame file.

Basically the way it goes is as you see these abominations around town or on another site, post the pic here for everyone to see.

Hopefully we can shame these people into removing the badge.

p.s to those who own a monster GTST that is as fast as a GTR or faster and think that gives them the right to have the badge, show some pride in your achievement. It is no small thing to get a GTST to be like that and you will get a lot more respect for it than whacking a dodgy badge on your car.

if I have have HCR on the chasis plate - is it a GTR?

if I have a GTR bodykit on my car - is it a GTR?

if I have a GTR badge on my car - is it a GTR?

if I have GTR rims on my car - is it a GTR?

if a GTR owner did a turd on my car - would it be a GTR?

I think you will find.. the resounding answer to all of these is, it's still not a GTR..

Even though these wouldn't make one's car a GTR, it's hardly a "Shame" to have these exterior improvements.

I think what he is saying that those people are using those add-on's as an excuse to put a GTR badge on their car, not that there is anything wrong with the add-on's themselves.

nexus that red one u posted a pic on i saw the other night in surfers he pulled up next to me and his mates go gtr and reved the engine but before i could even check to c f it was one they light had changed and they left lol.

Next time i c them im going to get in first

Chris it was a great idea to start the discusion regarding GTR badges i thought i was the only 1 who thought its just wrong and sad to put GTR badges on a GTST, ill have a camera with me from now on, so by the end of the week we'll need a new file server cause theres just so many fake GTR's around!

after driving along on a sunday i started to relize just how many fake GTR's there are, and some1 has to put a stop to this, its wrong! (thats why i started my thread)

either these badges are sold in bulk daily like bread or GTR owners around australia have had their badges taken.

I dont mind if the driver admits and says its a GTST but to carry on and make it as it actually is a GTR by having a bodykit, spoiler, engine or twin turbos...., its just wrong!

After i had an argument with some1 the other night regarding this i could not wait to get home and start this thread, this gtst owner put a twin turbo set up on his rb25, and him and his friends who had honestly no clue what a gtr is went along with it claiming if u add a twin turbo set up on a gtst the car magicly becomes a GTR, wow thats a nice trick, so i asked what u call a gtr with a single turbo conversion? a gtst i dont think so!

Please if u have GTR badges on your skylines i dont care but DONT claim and try to tell others its a GTR...! its not!

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).

    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
