i like LEDs/Neons, though as with anything it can be done the good way or the bad way.

i have seen 4WDs with them and that is just silly.

i have a particular setup in mind for mine and i still think they are as much for the driver as they are for anyone viewing your car. though in saying that, i don't really care whether anyone else likes my car as it is an expression of myself.

some of these points people have made about you not seeing them... what about bodykits? rims? etc... why bother with a style at all?

-if i owned a GTR i would remove all badges, even the GTR badges. some people will think that crazy but i don't like badges, i know it's a GTR and that is all that matters.

omg a hummer? wtf?! theyre nuts. LOL

ive seen neons of a jacked up 4by, that was a good laugh, looked ridiculous but it was funny.

Seen neons on lil jap/korean cars with no other mods, driven by old people. funny.

seen a Bus driving around kings park etc with blue underbody neons

The line of sepparation occurs along the performance and knowledge areas of someones background, I am guessing here. Most guys even under 20's who are performance enthusiasts would knock back neons. On the other hand young people who are after a car for an image and are caught up in fads more readily go the neons.

Agreed, I'm 18 very performance orientated, do mostly my own work, and would never have neons. by the time my car is 'finished' you won't be able to tell it from a stocker, love the sleepers.

Not a fan of neons, too much 'look at me' value, and is asking for you to be pulled over.

ahh the mighty can of worms thread seems to turn up evry 3-4 months

do what you want if you like how it looks go for it but be prepared for others to hate it

mates a commonwhore fan (hes owned like12) i love imports and four bangers we pull the piss constantly but respect each others choices

is it only blue neons that are legal over there or anything? they attract all the wrong attention here (melbourne) if you use em on the street though, from vandals and from cops.

always wanted to install yellow LED's under the car, in two halves divided down the middle of the car... lots of em, and wire em up to the indicators so when you turn half your car lights up :)

LoLz....most young people like neons. Generally, the older citizens of this nation do not appreciate them as much. Pehaps the "subcultural" group he is trying to gain the attention of are the youth of today, and not that of the older, more mature generation? :)

crap

i have neons in my footwells and i like the look of them on some cars

Good on Mirks for making his car how he wants its and not bowing to pressure to conform. "RICE is in the eye of the beholder"

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
