last year got defected for my front tyres and couldnt afford to buy a decent set and settle for a set of nankang tyre,

6 months later....

with in a week, both have gone flat for no visible reason.

one of them went flat at work, while the car was stationary.

the other last night while driving.

unfortunately i didnt realise that night that it was flat, only when i noticed a slight noise and the car was veering to the right (normally goes to left because of bush)

pulled over and whaddaya know! FLAT!!!!!

now the tyre that went flat while stationary was filled up left for a while and had no leak??? after i got it checked out.

the second is now ruined because the steel belt was driven on while flat. i filled it up and again seems ok.

now what i did to test that tyre is put water between the tyre and rim and check for bubbles, NOTHING!! on both sides.

so basically im thinking the tyres maybe faulty and just not sealing.

luckily i still have the reciept and going back on tuesday to talk to the guy that sold them to me and see what he has to say.

anyone else have similar experience???

have always found nankang tyres to be fine

maybe u had someone play a prank on u at work

the other one i have no idea.....

thats what i was thinking but after the second flat, i thought it to be weird.

and with the car 100mm low and a flat tyre also, it wasnt a funny practical joke

the most common reason for a flat like that is the valve not being inserted correctly, causing a slow leak.

But back to the tyre place sounds like a good idea to me

took them back

there seemed to be no fault at all

if it was a valve what are the odds of 2 in a week?

anyway the guy sdaid understress it would normally be vlaves but he said its hard to get good metal ones

most are shit and leak

hmm I couldn't afford the tyres I wanted either so I got 2 nankangs on the back for blue slip (making it 4 nankangs on the car... 4 too many) - haven't noticed anything with em yet.

will keep an eye on them - good luck to ya let us know how it goes.

I had a set on my line for a while, and they seemed like any other low quality tyre, kinda sandshooish but legal.

Flogged them without mercy, never had any dramas other than a lack of smoke, grip and cred :)

Other then this problem how would you rate these tyres? for around 700 you can get 255/40/17's on back and 235/45/17 on front pretty cheap. Whats the grip like? do you think you could get anything else better then nankangs same size for around $700?

Cheers,

Paradizzle

How often are you guys checking your tyre pressures? Every car I have ever owned had sloooooowly decreasing tyre pressures, some worse than others. Brnad of tyres makes no difference they all leak something. I check mine once a week after I get them, then once a month if they haven't gone down noticeably after a few weeks.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
