Yeah come to think of it that was quite an immature post, im kind of regretting submitting that load of rubbish earlier today

Yeah! That was a load of rubbish. I am glad you have woken up to your senses. I dont wish my circumstances upon anyone and hope no-one has to go through what I have been through in the last 14days or so. Even though 5/6 are back there is still one more. I had to sell all my cars and a house to invest in this and I am no dealer. So put yourself in my position and see how it feels.

I have got the same feeling as u 2HYPO, My GTR has been stolen last night. Just got shock today when i see it is disappear. Well, hope u can find your cars.

Same to you mate. I hope you find your car. We are still searching and if we come accross it I will definetely try and secure it and let you know.

Hey Joe, I save your mobile number to my mobile, if I find the final one I will call u. If u find my Black R32 GTR, please call me or my friend's number. I was driving everywhere tonight and try to find my GTR. God!!!!

Anyway, good luck for u and me...

2HYPO, don’t know what to say mate. Good luck buddy. Must be hell for you and partner. :P

If u finds the offenders, give them a bit of a beating on my behalf. And post some pics for future beatings…ops… “future reference” I meant… ;)

One more to be found :spcartman

All the best champ!

Well said and dont give up. Dont bother looking for your number plate as they might be using stolen plates etc..... GOODLUCK for us Both.

Wintonic: **edited out, didnt initially see that you had apologised for saying dumb shit :P **

Well after bringing in just ONE (1) GTR, the amount of stress doing that I can not imagine what it would feel like to have not 1, but 6 of them being stolen. I almost cried for you when I read it a few weeks ago.

Congratulations on getting most of them back.. lets make sure everyone keeps an eye out for the last one :)

So glad you got 5/6 back mate...

I only have an R33 GTS and i am scared for its life now... It also scared me heeps cause my best friend lives on the border of lidcombe and auburn and i go there with my car and thats where one of yours was found...

I was talking to a R34 owner on this forum and he strongly suggest what is called a GPS/GSM Security System...

The gps /gsm works perfect , as long as you have mobile reception it will call you if an intruder has tempered with your car . If there is no reception it will call you as soon as it has reception .

Gps is used to locate the car it gives you the location of it at any time , the speed its traveling and the direction its heading , it even keeps a log .

I have the one with the remote control arming in my car and the retail is $1300 supply only but you can get it for about 1050 . Oy can install yourself its not that hard as long as you can install an alarm you can do this as well .

You will need a sim card as well , i use optus $ 9 plan that inckludes $9 worth of calls , u can use prepay if you like . Once its set up you dont get any calls but you may want to test it from time to time .

If you want a remote arming its even cheaper but you would be mad not to get it , its so much easier as you lock the car it arms the tracker as well.

Look into it, it will ring you and tell you even if your car has moved a meter in the street...

Cheers and good luck with 6/6

Also im kinda a n00b...

What do hobbs bros actually do apart from open up you cars to be easily stolen or worse?

I want to start importing car/s so it would be good to know what they do, from what i read they are not good to use.

Any updates on your last car mate? Since reading this theres not a 32 that passes me that i dont check out. Keep your eyes on the trading posts and ebay for skyline parts ect... my mate found parts of his 180sx in the paper but due to lack of evidence saw no action taken, even tho he pointed out that the paint on the panels for sale matched the 1 off spray job from his car. he even had samples and left over paint to show the police but this wasnt enough. (bast4rds) all the best mate.

I've heard that cause they work off a normal GSM phone system all you need to do is drive the car out of mobile range (out in the country, somewhere with shitty reception, underground car park) and they're totally useless. I wouldn't rely on them but I guess they're still good extra protection

But the thing is you know where they last had reception... And as soon as they get reception again they tell you their location!

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
