haha, yeh i have heard about cheap ones on ebay, but after the whole GTDNO thing i went through on here i would rather buy one from someone legit...I heard of some available from somewhere in Redcliffe for like $180, but dunno the name of the joint. Any help would be kool, if we can we might organise a group buy.

Matt

$170 each and you can have as many as you like

3" high flow

Brand: Carsound.

Have been running 18psi and lots of hard time on this one for 2.5 years now and is still good.

My car runs rich as a muther and it is still ok

I work at Midas Woolloongabba but am currently filling in for someone at our Capalaba store.

And then you can have it fitted also.

Depending on the car and setup...fitting won't be more than $80

Step One, remove cat from system.

Step two, stand cat north south over a drain.

Step three, using a hammer and screw driver, belt away at the honeycomb looking filling.

Step four, continue belting away until said honeycomb is all in the drain.

Step five, re-attach cat to system.

I did this on my secret track car, as its illegal to not run a cat on poublic roads.

Problem with a 2nd hand one is that the internals of the cat will be demolished by now

They should only be keeping good cats at most of the wreckers anyway. You can still get a secondhand good one if you look, just like buying a turbo. I did the same for an engine conversion about 6 years back and both are still going well. A cat can last for a long time as long as it is operated properly in the car it came from (correct fuel mixture, temperature.)

You forgot Step 6. Get pulled over by transport inspectors who tell you your cat is hollow because of the poisonous gases bellowing out the back

and Step 7. Get fined up to $5000 depending on how 'aware' you were that it was hollow.

But what if there is no cat there? You can't be aware of a hollow cat if you don't have a cat now can you :P

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
