Dean's (KIL-08S) 200ZR should be just fine...as it was a power steering line that got a little too hot!!! from contact with an exhaust manifold runner.

what an awesome day. Was great to chat with some of the guys here and great to see so many smiling friendly faces :(:D it is a pleasant change :):D

Thanks to the organisers and thanks to the judges for the 2 trophies, was certainly a surprise to get the 2 we did.

Hope to see some of you guys on the 31st at the test and tune, its time to go Mazda bashing ;):) :)

Yeah, awesome day guys (and gals), had a great time drooling over all the nice cars, great organisation and turnout too...very impressed! good work guys

was hoping to enter my car but i only just got it on the road late morning to get up there LOL, o well next time...

200ZR - I stand corrected. That's good to hear nothing else went up with it and it was just flashing fluid!

Was totally buggered after the day...

I would like to thank everyone that turned up... so many commented on the total lack of dickhead factor, which is a huge acolade (sp?) for all 90+ entrants and all the specatators. There was also heaps of great comments and ideas for next year to make things run a little differently.

Also, if and of the Judges are reading through this, a HUGE thankyou must go to them... 90+ cars to be judged is a massive effort, and they stayed enthusiastic about it for the entire time... amazing!

For all those that worked tirelessly behind the sceens, Thanks you so very much, without these people these type of events just don't happen.

The sponsors and trade stalls, Thank you! I hope that you will in the comming weeks see the rewards! And I hope that you will be along again next year.

What a totally amazing day, I think one of the only downer was the wet grass from the rain last week, and I must say thank you to all people that turned up and didn't complain about putting there freshly polished cars on the grass. :P

Dan.

It was a good day but I feel that some cars were UNDER Judged. I really do feel that the orginisers knew some of the winning cars and was upsetting to see the award go to other cars and I know if I mention the cars that should of won I will have alot of people up in a stir.

We did our best, and as has been said, we did our very best to select judges from all areas. But please do PM me with any suggestions that you have on how to make things better next time.

I would hope though that on the whole you enjoyed the day?

Thanks for all the feed back,

Dan.

Sam, I realise you think that your friend should have won best R34 GTR which is all good and well, but on the flipside there are also people who think that other cars were more deserving of best exterior

The judges made their decisions based on a thorough criteria that was set, there was no favoritism, no bias.

Lets not get carried away and overlook the fact this was a show and shine and not Autosalon.

At the end of the day, the event was a huge success and everyone who attended seems to share the same opinion. Lets not tarnish the success of SNS 2005 with ill feelings over who did and didnt win a trophy :D

GTR32X, I was not sure which category you were pointing the issue at, but if it is the R34 GTR I agree, I thought that CYIFLY was well deserved as the best R34 at show. Please see my comments in the wrap up thread. I have even asked to see the score cards to see what I had that gave me the points. I suggest it will be the Mods that separated the score. I clearly displayed my mods list and supplied a dyno run. I think CYIFLY has just as much go fast gear but I dont think is was advertised or captured to highlight it to the judges. As a side note I did not know any of the judges who looked at my car? To be honest they looked un interested in the car and the win was a surprise. The score cards will show their opinions and differences in the cars.

You are correct. The organisers know some of the winning cars.

Do you really expect the ORGANISERS of a SKYLINES AUSTRALIA NSW CLUB - SHOW AND SHINE, *NOT* to know some of the entrant cars? Are you being serious here? :uhh:

This is exactly why we employed the services of representatives from all the SPONSORS to carry out the judging and not the ORGANISERS, so that people couldn't complain about biased judging, but I guess there's always one person who thinks that their car or their mate's car is the best and should have won every catergory offered rolleyes.gif

and was upsetting to see the award go to other cars

If you are seriously upset, because you or your mate's car didn't win a token trophy, some seat belt pads and a gearknob at a FRIENDLY Skylines Australia NSW Show 'n Shine, you really need re-assess your priorities.

Everyone was out there for a good time and to meet other Skyline owners, and all you care about is that you or your mate didn't win a trophy? Jesus :uhh:

Bins full stop.

And Paul, I was the only one of the Judges who knew your car and I didn't give it top marks.:D:D:D:D

Abo, as you stated, the fact you knew the car was probably a disadvantage.

Oh and by the way "Your car looked so Clean"

Ha HA!

i thought MADGTR was better than CYIFLY, but in the end they were both great cars.

anyone know what was under CYIFLY's bonnet?? i never saw it open

Nope, I never saw "Why he flies"... Supposedly, neither did any of the judges dunno.gif

I do recall seeing CYIFLI run somw good numbers at the WSID i belive in the 11's

ohh here are some photos

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
