guy i just need some help

on sunday nite about 12.30am i am just driving home from gf house, at a 3 lane intersection light, i was in the inside lane and it ending soon. the middle lane was a pulsar triple s, when the light turn green i step on it just want to overtake the pulsar bcos my lane was ending..the cop was on the same interesction heading across us..the cop pull both of us over, gave us a note say that we need to go to court for "orgainise illegal street racing" and didnt fine us for anything??? i ask the cop why does it stated "orgainise illegal street racing" when it not true and they say it just state like that, but its up to the court to decide what to do. the cop didnt get us for speeding or anything bcos they cant pick it up on their radar. i was doing about max 90km and i over take the pulsar, i am on my gold and have 12 pts perfect driving history. just want to know if anyone else in the same situation as me? or anything i can do

thank in adv

Sounds like to cop was in a shitty mood & took it out on you, coz he got the graveyard shift.

Given the facts from your story, If you do get summoned & told your story & the Triple S driver saw it the same way, it would be hard for them to to prove otherwise.

The only thing I think they could have got you for was speeding or 'unnecessary need for acceleration..something or rather'. I wouldnt fret too much.

If you are being completely honest with your account of how it happened, and you really do have a faultless gold license, then I dont think you have anything to worry about. If you are asked to attend court, give a truthful statement on what happened im sure a judge will let you off with a warning.

Honesty is the best policy

Firstly wait for the letter in the mail.

90 in a what zone? I wouldn't mention the speed if you were over the limit. Hope u got the other guys number to help you make up a credible story. More people vs cop will help in your letters of appeal.

Also don't quote me on this, but I heard it may be illegal to overtake in the left? Can anyone confirm? or just rumour.

FYI, I got a letter from the IPB recently in response to a fine I was disputing saying that they have the authority to cancel an offence in the following situations:-

1) First offence

2) You have had no offences for a minimum of (get this) 10 years.

So if you are clean, then write the IPB a nice letter quoting your previous driving history. Do this a few times if it gets rejected. Court only gets involved way way way down the track.

I've never heard of anything like that? Attending court for a matter is a long and cumbersome process... the cop who stopped you has no influence on whether it goes to court.

Im pretty certain If the left hand lane is merging its who ever is infront at the time when the road merges has right of passage, other car has to to give way.

the rta states that you shouldnt go over the speed limit under ANY circumstances. if you were below the limit, you should be fine if you explain what happened truthfully. your perfect driving record should also serve as an reflection of your driving history, and indicates you're unlikely to be involved in a "organised street race".

well when the cop pull us over he gave us a note each that say, i need to attend court for organzie illegal street racing..but no fine or anything else. most people say that if the copper fine me for street racing, they will taken my car no question ask. is this true?

also one of my friend told me, that i have to be racing with someone for more than one intersection and the cop have to follow ..... b4 they can fine me for street racing, is this true?

no ive heard of them pulling more than one person over.

as a last resort i say be honest, dont mention the cars though, and say i did go over the speed limit but just to over take for a second, and if they wish to give you a speeding fine thats ok but the fact is u wernt street racing.

Wait for the letter to come. See if you can get a definition of what an 'oraganised drag race" is.

Yep, dont mention what cars you drive if possible. At the end of the day its an irellevant detail. If they judge you on what car you drive, thats descrimination as far im concerned.

If You Do Go To Court Your Chances Are Thin, 2 Year Ago Two Of My Mates Got Pinned For Street Racing, The Funny Thing Was They Were Only Doing 50 K's In A Mini And A Suzuki Chino, 1 Had A Perfect Record And The Other Didn't But They Both Appered In Cort At The Same Time So They And Both Got The Same Penalty.

Good Luck.....

Another thing would be to take photos of the intersection and any road signs that are visible from the intersection, showing that the left lane was ending shortly. This should give the magistrate a good indication of what was occuring at the time.... and i wouldnt mention what car you drive or if the magistrate happens to ask, give a vague answer like my nissan family car... or sumfin

    • Have a look at that (shitty) pic I posted. You can see AN -4 braided line coming to a -4 to 1/8 BSPT adapter, into a 1/8 BSPT T piece. The Haltech pressure sender is screwed into the long arm of the sender and factory sender (pre your pic) into the T side. You can also see the cable tie holding the whole contraption in place. Is it better than mounting the sender direct to your engine fitting......yes because it removes that vibration as the engine revs out 50 times every lap and that factory sender is pretty big. Is it necessary for you......well I've got no idea, I just don't like something important failing twice so over-engineer it to the moon!
    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
