Benny from Chasers is apparently running a similiar twin 3240 setup on the new GTR. I have not seen it in person just going by what someone told me recently.
I suspect a nice amount of bullshit in this thread :D

Show us some pics of this powerhouse engine setup steve.

these two post's go hand in hand :D....if bullshit was music...those (unts would own a brass band :D

Dude the specs are so mismatched it's hard to beleive that it's a real combination. If a workshop or machine shop was putting it together they would have said something, if it was assembled at home the person doing it would know something about the combination and it would not be as stated.

Then you have the pictures, which do not line up with the stated specs. So either the pics are false, or the original post is false. Either way there's some porkies going on and again it leads to the 1st post having no clue.

I give the thread 9/10 stars, Troy's jokes lifted it up from a measly 4 for entertainment.

Remeber I said 'apparently'.

Horus can clear this us.

the car is being built, last time I saw it it was on the hoist with the turbos and a few other bits pulled off, they were initially saying that it was going to be ready for the first autosalon, however with the huge amount of work they have been getting related to the drifts it was put on the backburner

ever noticed how many times Ive mentioned this vs how many times this keeps getting brought up? get over it, me, nor the workshop, nor the nutter paying for this car really give a flying f**k whats said about it on the internet, so you guys shouldnt either, when the car is debuted start talking then....frankly if you are all so concerned about autosalon and the like, concentrate more on what you are doing for it, and try not to enter cars with panel damage, it is a car show after all :uhh:

skylinesteve works and has an association with selectamaz in epping

Well I guess we just wait and see with this one. I'm not in a position to add detail or confirm or deny the setup as I haven't seen it, and steve is off to japan for a bit so there will be no more bites there, but I am hoping to see it soon.

He's a pretty good guy as well. How many people would borrow your trailer and bring it back fully resprayed? Matt, if you are so desperate for the dyno print I'll ask if he has it.

Also, yes, Steve has a long standing association with Issy at SelectMaz, doing a lot of their rotor porting work for them as well as spending time on the workshop floor. Issy also now owns SelectMaz outright and intends to move more into the Skyline and import market (apparently even bought a GTR32), so if MoTeC is on your shopping list I would recommend giving them a call.

Anyway, Steve has some expectations from this motor so good luck to him.

LOL ur still pissed off he didnt send u your dyno print out from the selectamaz dyno day aint ya?? :P
LOL actually I called Issy myself ages ago and he printed another dyno graph and posted it out to me :upurs: Steve shouldn't have taken everyone's print outs to send out when he didnt have everyone's details, then take over a month to send them out!

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
