i'm sooo slow :(

couldnt agree more :(

yeah I was in the 170-180 zone but back then I didnt have my pfc and hence didnt wanna hit the speed cut so I backed off....

only been there twice....first time I didnt get a time..second time was done officially by Race Time.....1:18 but they were on SHIT tyres........ :(

oooer I've never seen that vid before. I tell you what, you turned in too late in turn 5, and missed the first apex in turn 8....otherwise that was very close to a perfect lap, good braking marks, great lines ;) What time did you do?

hey duncan!

i missed the horse shoe because i thought the STi behind me was going up the inside (he really did fill the rear view mirror going into that corner) i was giving him the inside line, then i just said stuff it and pulled the nose back in ;)

that STi is a stroked 2.2litre. very animal! no idea of the time, you could probably time it off the video though :D it might come close to your freaking fast times!!!

damn I miss that car, it sits sooo nice in that vid.... hope miss it too you bastard.

ahh the goold old days ;)

he caught you at turn 8 because you could have come out of turn 5 faster :D can't beleive you let an understeering hyundai keep up :)

hahah, oh yeah i definately miss it and the fact there are soo many good buy R32 GTR's these days is making it worse! take ya pick!!! ;)

when i get back from my relocation i'll get stuck back into it! :D

damn it. yeah, i need more track time :) i need more "duncan tuition time" hahaha.

you've gotta show a few of these people what an R32 GTR can do around wakefield. alot of them seem to believe the KING is only good for 10's and 12's around that track!!!

there was a purple r32 gtr doing 6's and 7's around wakefield that i know of. theres gotta be more doing similar times.

but all gee ups aside, anyone who wants to know how to attack wakefield in a skyline, have a good look at that vid :P

turn into turn 1 just after the end of the pit wall

brake after turn 1 for turn 2 (unless you've got crap tyres)

run nice and wide on the exit of turn 2 theres plenty of room and you need a good run up hill

turn into turn 3 from right over the side of the track, you turn in at the ripple strip just after the road on the left

get right up on the ripple strip at the end of turn 4, its nice and smooth. Just don't fall off the end there is a hge hole

tap brakes (left foot if you can keep your right foot flat) and turn into turn 5, run nice and wide to the exit. up that ripple strip too.

Same trick for turn 7, tap brake, right up the ripple strip there too.

Turn 7, long sweeper, turn in at the ripple strip on the outside (feels late). You can go up the ripple strip just take it easy if you have a loose rear end as you can have a high speed spin ;)

brake and turn in nice and late for turn 8, hit the first apex (up the ripple strip again) and run nice and wide on the exit still braking. you end up near the road to the left, turn in again then since the understeer should stop by now. 2nd apex is the end of the ripple strip. 3rd gear.

flat thru turn 9 balls required, get up the strip a bit and run wide on the exit

brake late for the last turn as well, past the 100m sign. Watch out for the bumpy track if you have ABS, its not as bad near the middle. don't turn in until very late, you can see where the outside of the track takes a sharp turn....don't turn in until there. Touch the end of the inside ripple strip, floor it, and do it all again.

See, its easy :/ about 1:14 for a gtst on road tyres or 1:11 on r tyres. 1.08-1.09 for a GTR on r tyres depending on power

hahaha! check an older video out of mine which demonstrates this to the letter! ;)

lots of under under cause the suspension settings were still being tweaked and there is also some action of a certain wine red r33 attempting some drifting by dr carlo.....;)

1.08-1.09 for a GTR on r tyres depending on power

make it happen duncan!!! :/

hahhaa I'm not made of money mate, but I will take front diff donations.

the only real problem with my car is that it doesnt really have a heap of power, the rules are pretty restrictive, and the yokos are pretty much the worst r tyres around. Will still get out and give it a go tho :D

franks :) I remember that video, you came soooo close to t-boneing that S15 ;) proving again the first rule of racing....if someone spins drive for them, they will be gone by the time you get there :D

I don't understand what you're saying Duncan.

I remember seeing that video ages ago. It made me decide that unless someone is right up my arse, if someone spins in front of me I hit the brakes hard. Cars spinning out of control don't generally turn around and slide back the way they just came.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
