hey guys

over the week i had a huge car accident in which some f.ucka speeding took out my front end (front bar ruined , gaurds ruined, radiator stuffed , bonnet, pretty much did around 8grand worth of damage)

now since the dude didnt have insurance has left me in a very very tight situation.

i now need to repair the car with 2nd hand parts i dont know the extent of the damage as yet but definately im going to need a new bonnet , both guards and a front bar (all for a series 2 r33) thats as a minimum and then all the engine parts he may have ruined, damn f.ucka. as i cant really afford all this i only have two options

1. keep my car off the road and repair it over 4 months.

2. repair it using parents money and sell the car.

now i need to repair it because as all skyline owners know its so hard to part with something uve spent alot of time money and effort into.

so if any guys out there know ne places where i can get a front cut for a series 2 pretty cheap would be of much help

what parts are included in a front cut? just outa curiousity, im still spewing ova the fact that the other guy doesnt have insurance and ive only got 3rd party, which really screwed me up.

As nick said. o and commence legal action immediently or you willl get constant stupid drivers like him who have no insurance who think they can get away with it all the time.

if YOU have insurance, you notify the insurnance company, and let them handle it, they will take his a$$ down

If you don't have insurance, then

go to a smash repairer, they can probably tell you the best attack (other than a lawyer). But you need to get a quote done, then send a letter of demand for them to pay.

then u wait x days, and send another....then if they still dont contact, you go to a...err...cop type person (not a cop tho) and they issue the request to thier face. then you take them to court.

there should have been witnesses - find them

u need to log it with police so you have a incident number

u have the argument "how else would i have this guys license number etc..plus these ppl saw the accident"

he will have to pay. it might take you 6 months, but yeah...

talk to a repairer they can give you more detailed info..i had to do it for mine, my insruance company handled it.

DaGr81,

a mate of mine was in a similar situation, except he was the one at fault.

He had NO insurance and NO rego. Rego expired a week before the accident!

The other parties involved did have insurance and just let their respective insurance companies do the chasing up for them.

It took few months to sort everything out, however his accident was complicated by some medical bills as an injury was believed to have been suffered by one of the drivers/passenger that was hit. By the sounds of things, no-one was seriously injured in ure accident???

re: Front cuts / spares, i get most of my parts from just jap in Kirrawee.

They've been pretty good to me so far.

Hope it eventually all works our for you.... sooner than later!

I reckon if you go ahead and do that, you won't get anything out of the guy. Talk to a few shops (ones that KNOW they wont get the work) and see what they say.

Maybe you can get a quote for a fix, then send him the bill, but actually get done what u really want.

why don't you wait until it's repaired before doing that...you gotta make sure the other party pays up before you modify it.

    • 9" wheels are a little too wide for a RWD 32. They can fit. People have put R33 GTR wheels on 32s for years and years. But they are a very tight squeeze. This has been known for about 30 years. As I said - there is no difference between a 17 and an 18 in terms of what will fit. The rolling diameter needs to stay about the same as stock - not very much larger. If you increase that, you will start to have problems. If you increae rolling diamater at the same time as yo increase width, you will have problems earlier. as 9" wheels are pushing the boundaries already, you would need to be careful with tyre choice. I would put 8.5s on the front of mine, but would expect problems with 9s.

Check each coil such that +1, -3 is infinite or very high resistance, -3, +2 should do the same. (-1, +3), (+3, -2), (+1, -2), and (-1, +2) should all be somewhere between 0 ohms and high resistance. If you trace the path from the coil pin all the way back to the ECU in the diagram the resistance you measure at the coil vs connected to the harness should be pretty much the same.

    • yeh they are 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rears. I still didn't get my answer if i can fit a 18x9 up front. I want to get 4 of this and see if they will fit before committing as they didn't see an 18x8 as an option but there is a 18x9.5 also.   Enkei RS05-RR 18x9 35mm ET 5x114.3 75.0 Bore Matte Gunmetal Wheel
