yeah was a nice run on SLICKS but the other two big singles i've seen have battled to say the least to get them off the line(no low down grunt or torque or rapid spool up in these examples) And one of the guys actual said he would have trade the power delivery of his single for what we were getting out of the small garret in and instant and as for see at the plex, yeah right i'll grow old and retirer before you put car where your mouth is?

I'm quite sure from what i saw it was on street tyres . And as for getting off the line and rapid spool i've seen yours bog off the line quite a number of times.

And the other big single turbo car you are talking about has a turbo 3 times the size of yours put together. We are talking properly matched singles here. ie.. gt35's , t60-1 etc etc

Sus the dyno graph. Not bad for a shitty single. As for that other dyno graph on the twins. Funny how its getting shown starting at 115kms. Nice way to show a big average power graph.

AND has a set of low-mount twins!!!

Try getting a power curve like that with a single!!!!

any reason why you didnt do it in shoot_6 mode instead of shoot_8

last time i checked an RB26 came with only 6 pistons :(

I have covered this before. A properly matched single BB turbocharger will always outperform any twin turbo variants of similar calibre both in response and outright power. You cant go against physics. There is a GTR with only a GT30 which makes +300rwkW and does a high 10 with better drivavbilty than nismo N1s by far. Please the person who owns this car speak out and pass on your experience of this brilliant car.

30 years ago yeah twin turbos were the go... not anymore.

What are you talking about? The fluid dynamics behind it all say that one turbo per cylinder is the ideal.

Mik i got to agree with you from all the published documentation i have read multi turbo configurationhas been known to have a clear efficience edge over a single arrangement( due to in one part the clear exhaust signal)

And people just for a moment think about ever top of the range turbo charged performance car on the market i can think of nissan ,toyota, porsche are all multi turbo , And your trying to tell me they spend million of dollars on development to built some of the fast cars on the planet to built multi turbo cars ,to have only gone backward from the base model unit (ie gts to gtr)I DONE THINK SO.

ok the fast gtrs in world hks/veilside/gtr700/Keir wilson etc etc all twin

the best track gtrs in the world (other end of the scale "responce") all twins never seen the nissan racing team run a single turbo set up I WOUNDER WHY NOT , if what you say is true that single is best why would a team with hugh money resource and R&D backing not have gone to that configuration for an edge ,BECAUSE IT ISN'T.

Poor Nissan, spending all that money on the RB26DETT when they could have listened to you and just stuck with the single turbo setup!

And the R32 GTR came out in 1989, which is only 15 years ago.

:bs!:

And clearly BMW engineers have no f*cking idea because they are developing a twin-turbo inline-6 setup:

BMW Twin turbo

The best example I think is the

GT42R single making 1131 hp vs 2 x 3240's making 1073 hp

The 3240's are on a 3.4 litre engine, vs a 3litre engine.

And I am afraid the single turbo making more power on the samller engine comes on harder

I'm not calling you a liar, however you haven't explained why the engineers persist with the twin-turbo setup if it's a waste of time.

There is one point we all miss here. We all are assuming manufactors make cars to be there best / fastest / most effecient.

Manufacturers dont make the best car the possibly can, they make cars that SELL and make money ......

Doesn't TWIN Turbo sound cool to the marketing department ?

Above that I dont truly know the answer to which is better. I just thought it nice to show some real world examples up for thought

Yeah its not just not the engineers but also the company like HKS,TOMEI and APEXI top performance gtr's are twins aswell and if your going to talk hp what about Veilside 1400hp plus 2.6Litre gtrs on twin turbos but obvisiously these companys need to come listen to the aussie back yard experts cos there got it all wrong.

I surgest a few guy could benefit from reading a book by Gramham Bell called Forced Induction. It based on facts and on cars developed in F1 and WRC and the principles that have been developed in all areas of forced induction.

Watch a few early HPI dvd's and see what sorta times the big singles are running on the gtr's . Yes the huge horsepower GTR's are running twins but thats due more to the fact that u cant get a single big enough to get the horsepower they want. Were talking street cars here not all out drag cars.

Did you care to notice the signature on the graph...it was in competition, so the run was performed under competition rules (not mine) Also there is not enough loading on the dyno in shoot6 for high powered vehicles...i.e. too much wheelspin in shoot6...all dyno comps use shoot8...i.e. everybody has the same dyno loading.

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
