A 5-spd, with a sunroof, and a wheel in good condition, and the centre vent is unbroken AND it's black. Good job!

The red logo looks groovy. I really like the black GTSt's with the stock rims. My brother-in-law had one a few years back and it always looked nice without going over the top with bling like so many do these days.

Thanks for the pics mate!

Looks pretty clean there - good work!

hope it goes well for you.. they don't like cleaning them engine bays do they in japan? ;)

go the stock rims !! :P

ooo.. blitz bov too..that will be annoying you in about a week I reckon :P

haha thanks Gordon, I love the stockers, and I'm loving the affordability of 16" tyres too... and the blitz BOV will have to get that one taken off, sitting there sparkling right at the front of the engine bay... easy defect material.

I forgot to ask them to hide the turbo timer, will be interesting to see if it turns up... when I looked at it again I noticed it was an HKS one.. doh.

  • 2 weeks later...

ok ok ok... I am the HAPPIEST person in the world. I saw her for the first time today!!!

Went down to the compliance shop this arvo and I just couldn't wipe the grin off my face!!!! I brought a digi camera but I only got a couple of shots off before the bloody thing died. So the few photo's I have a SHIT.

ok.. well it seems to be in pretty good nick, its a little dirty, but that was expected as it has been doing alot of sitting around...

so the good things. Well my turbo timer is still there and wasn't stolen, I have the gold GT badges (factory option), what looks like a 3 inch cat back exhaust. I also think I have a cadence amp, I tried to take a pic of it, but it turned out a little blurry. The sunroof seal looks like its in pretty good condition too.

the bad things (only semi bad). The parkers work but the headlights don't, the compliance dude said he would have a look at them for me. The back speakers have been taken out of the parcel shelf. The battery is pretty flat. Theres a few bulbs that aren't working in the dash.

I booted her up and she sounds SOOOO nice, possibly the best sound in the world (hearing it for the first time). Was having a look at some of the papers inside on the floor, with some of the notes from the supplier, one of them said: "S/R not good". Does anyone know what this is?

Overall I'm really really happy, I just can't wait to drive it! I'll post up the shitty pics in a sec.

shes in my driveway now!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a little trouble booting her up, but with a little persitance from dads car we got there in the end. I managed to take her up the street so I could park it in the driveway. It's amazing, the handling is SO light! It's too dark for pics now, but I will work on it tommorow.

There is a minor electrical problem with the sunroof, it opens but dosn't close, the guy at the compliance shop showed me. I'll just have to replace the switch so it isn't too bad.

thanks mark

here's the picture of the badge, it's pretty crude as it was taken with the point and shoot camera just when the sun was going down.

Here's some more recent pics of the car, which still aren't that good.. so I will have to get some more: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=83941

Heres the thread which shows all the factory options, including the gold badges ;)http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=48934.

    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
    • I suppose it was relatively stock too, the JZ motor handle most mods thrown at them without even breaking a sweat
