Im organising my first mod for my stock 32gtst which is of course the zorst.

Im getting the dump/front and high flow cat of BATMBL for a good price now i just need to sort out my cat back. I wanted the Apexi N1 but i talked to xspeed and they said they don't have any in stock and they were over a grand anyway ( I was looking to pay more like 8 hundered'ish) they said they are getting some HKS high power's in at the start of next month for $865.

So basically is there anywhere in perth to get a zorst cheaper ? and what does everyone think of the High Power ?

I don't mind paying $865 but i just thought id check if you guys knew a better place...

i got told they were expensive for doing work on a car, i didn't think that nessasarily ment that they would be expensive for parts. I went there cos i didn't know any other place that stock HKS and Apexi exhausts. I understand that they are expensive and i have no problem with that. I just wanted someone to say that that was a fair price so i know im not paying more than is nessesary :P Now i know to try mettams thanx mate ;)

I was quoted by Mettams's: $400 for a 3 inch cat back exhaust system with stainless steel cannon. I reckon it's a good price.

It's $780 for Turbo-Back System...excluding hi-flow cat.

Will be making an appt after I get my front/ dump pipe and hi-flow cat.

Most probably will be getting from batmbl. However may consider getting the X-Force ones from e-bay. Have read some good reviews about them.

in my opinion i dont think the jap brand vs local brand thing does much in terms of zorst.. widening everything to 3" will get u the bulk of the power.. the exhaust decision for me was really wat sounded the best to me.. and i doubt there would be huge amounts of power difference between them...

i think a lot of the difference is right there. You may buy a 3inch exhaust system, but if it isnt mandrel bent, then you may end up getting an exhaust system which is only 2.5 inch in size at a certain point -> which will impede airflow compared to a 3inch mandrel bent system.

I had my fujitsubo 3.5inch exhaust fitted at an exhaust shop, and the guy commented on the quality of the tig welding, mandrel bending and the stainless steel used on the system. Basically, he said that NOTHING made here could match that sort of quality for the price. So while local systems may be cheaper, your jap gear may be of better quality (depending on the system you buy)

buy the Jap stuff - online at greenline or neugen.

Not only is it a reserched and developed system - it just looks more "quality" and better finished.

GO the Apexi N1 - AWESOME exhaust - remember:

1. DONT COMPROMISE

2. DO IT ONCE - DO IT PROPERLY (if it takes alittle longer to save, do it, it will be worth the wait).

mettams are awesome for doing weldjobs etc, and they are real cheap for stock exuast system.

for my gtr ill be getting a N1, love the sound and they arnt 2 loud.

i bet the one from mettams will be hell loud.

i paid $700 for a 3inch mandrell cat back, with a stainless muffler a few year back for my turbo laser, and it was hell loud. got it done by formaz.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
