Danny - Got the car ok ..... looks cleaner then i thought it would be, the respray is much better then i expected and far better condition then i thought judging by the photos.

Found a few little extra mods that weren't listed too :)

Will let you know how it goes when its tuned and all sorted, the whole way home i kept it below 4k and only got 0.3bar boost (just to be safe until had tune and afr's checked) so i am anxious as waiting until i can rev it and hit full boost :D

Daniel - Sorry hadn't replied, my computer died and i just got it going again tonight.

How long is your compliance looking at taking?

Jamie

recieved an email from Ben at J-spec, saying that for 15yr imports the car has to be registered BEFORE compliance, in the same state that you are getting the car complied in. So me having the car complied in Brisbane won't be possible.

Just thought I'd let you all know :)

yeah, that doesnt make sense at all.

The Car cant be registered in your state until complianced. Compliance has to happen first.

Then Your states Blue Slip/Roadworthy whatever then registered at the rego office.

Not sure about the having to be complied in the same state you are registering it tho???

anyone confirm that? i thought it could be complied anywhere? then taken to your state...

foznice: yeah definitely agree with these guys, you are not allowed to drive an uncomplied car on the road at all! Even with dealer plates. I'm sure about the compliance and registering in different states. I would say though that it wouldn't matter for 15y.o imports and it makes the car adhere to AUSRALIAN design rules (ADR). Not sure though.

Should have the car back from compliance friday morning. Then get a quick phoneworthy and off to queensland transport in the afternoon to register it.

Jamie, Hows it going with the self compliance?

Sorry guys, photos still to come.

yeah i think any state will be the same as its meeting the ADRs...

yeah picsorban.

:P

your contacts seem helpful daniel. i think i need to meet you in person when GTR gets here soon.

:D lol

thanks

Michael

from everything i have heard/ read and am going through atm with my car, the car can be complied in any state, however, you must have an engineers cert for the state you plan to register. for eg, im getting car complied in qld, and the price aparently includes qld engineers, but i said i need nsw cert as i live in nsw. and he said he will have to organise it. i cannot walk into RTA and say i want this car registered, here is my qld mod plate for compliance.

Alright guys here are the pics of the car!

As you can see from the one in the container it came over pretty dirty, but after a quick tub it came up really good.

Just can't wait to get it on the track now!

cleaned up nicely, the paint color looks heaps different after you gave it a wash.

ahhh the self compliance - it will be a while. i have to get my other car ready to sell before i start on the gtr so it will be a while yet. If i start on the gtr now i won't want to work on the other car (getting turbos rebuilt, oil seals gone i think) as its not a fun job.

Jamie

Hey Rylan,

I think you misunderstood, the car needs to be complied according to the regulations of each particular state, so for all intents and purposes it needs to be complied in the same state it will eventually be registered. A car can't be registered unless it is complied first, not the other way round :P

Car looks really good mate, if you don't mind my asking how much has/will it cost you all up?

1st weekend with the car registered was awesome! God I love this machine.

Got the seasts and the cage mod plated so no dramas there! The lady at queensland transport was like "it;s a bit low isn't it" and i'm like arrrr here is my roadworthy! Which the guy who did was a champ!

Yes we had some difficulties getting the car out of the container. We had to modify the ramps with wooden blocks and the front bar still scraped! I can't get it in any driveway, mine or my girlfriends. But it's worth it, looks phat.

Going to try and get a tune this week then hopefully to the track on Friday night for dorifto!

Looking good Daniel,

SPEWING we didn't catch up! I was hoping you would call back, I had reception problems with my phone and recieved too many calls to remember which one you called me from :D

I wanted to battle you in my Sonata down the Spit! but you would have needed floaties to get there! Queensland........ perfect one day half a metre under water the next! I had to give the footpath a good work out to get in and out of Seaworld Nara Resort, the sonata sucked the big one but felt ok with the foot down and the hand brake up!!

Blipman....... I will slap you tomorrow...

Jamie, good to hear the car is as good as we thought, would be great to see what it puts to the ground, ... or dyno rollers.

Yeah would have been good to catch up!

We couldn't get out of our street, we had Niagra Falls in the back yard and The River Wild just down the road.

I emailed you and Ben to see if you can chase up any more info about the car from Japan. She will be gracing the pages (and hopefully the cover) of one of the next two drift battle magazines! We are doing the photoshoot next week so I am busy ordering and fitting all the cool stuff I need. i.e HKS Turbo!

I have to pretty up to dodgy rolled guards as well! The paint has a wicked blue metallic in it that you can't see from photos, which is cool but is making the paint hard to match.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
