As quick as some of the cars there were, including the white R32 GTR, Bens car is still registered and has an interior...that simple fact blows me away whenever i think about it. Has anyone ever got in his ear to put a complete cage in it and run some slicks?

Other then the WRX Club ad Maserati who runs days at Sandown. The Sandown day was the best so far because the cross section of cars. Its far more fun when there is a variety of cars, or just cars you havent seen before:)

That 1973 240Z has 283rwkw on Racepace dyno. It did 1:21 on 5 year old semi-comp tyres. Had some brakes issues on the day.

Niegel's Supra also did 1:21 and it was only his 2nd time at Sandown.

Snowflake ....... you are going too fast too quickly..........slow down :)

Can't believe how fast everyone is going these days. Was a good day out.

I got beaten by 2 RWD cars! I was going slow! Man given a decent steerer the car is easily capable of a 1.20.

I mean Ponozza was only 0.3s behind me and he's running stock turb's, suspension and brakes. Him in my car would have beaten Frank I'm pretty sure.

My true skill's will be highlighted when Aaron finally gets his car sorted fully. I can currently only beat people by having spent more money than them. LOL

But right now Aaron and Chris are still behind me and thats all that matters. I'll have to retire once they get sorted or else learn to drive :)

I think your selling yourself short...me thinks you need to spend some money making sure everything is doing what its meant to be doing.

Not riding the bumps etc nicely, you mentioned you felt down on power at PI, do you still think the car has the grunt it had at Calder?

And what i was saying about big brakes being great, but keeping the tyres in contact with the road in order to be able to use them is what reduces the stopping distances etc etc. I reckon a couple of dollars on tweaking what you got and your car will be a lot quicker again....and the fact that you get the times at PI as well as places like Sandown, well im saying its more the car playing silly buggers then the driver.

Look at my times, im way off what i think the car is capable of at PI, but at Sandown i feel a lot more comfortable driving the car that little bit harder.

At the end of the day i wish i was doing low 1:22s :Pimp2:

Didnt ask, all i know is it was apparantly running pump gas. I wouldnt be surprised if it weighed in around the mid 1300kgs though. So say 320-330rwkws with good grip and low weight...yeh actually that power level still seems a bit low:)

LOL...I dont know, it was quick and it was an R32 :D

Marcus - you need to get with the program.

Running with the Maserati Club is so 2004.

:P

:talk2hand

but seriously, I'm an old man.

I'm a 'donkey on the edge' - I may get sell up the GTR, get fat, grow a beard, buy a Jag XJ6, paint a union jack on it (or BRG) and go old man racing with an overall clad pit crew

I can see some merrit in what you say there mate. And I'm well on the way. I've already got fat and half grown the beard. But I see myself more as an Austin Martin man - maybe a Vantage - or even a TVR, then I can punt around slowly in the corners but then use the cars HP to make it near impossible to get past me on the straights. Especially at Winton.

Oh what fun it would be to not worry about anyone else on the track with me cause I have so much money that I can afford this twaty but expensive car.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
