It's probably right in front of my face, but it completely defeats me as to why an electricity provider would be asking questions about someone's cars.

For your sake Andrew, I hope that it was Western Power

What the?

Rule number one, you NEVER EVER give your home address when selling anything, doesnt matter if its cars or an electrical items.

So many sellers have been shafted like this and either had their cars stolen or had their houses broken into the the items they advertised for sale stolen.

Common sense guys.

Keep your skyline under tight gaurd Veilside, alternatively I would suggest moving it to another location for the time being.

I'll check on Western Power, My Dad's had another word with thins guy and he has taken a description, checking back through his file photos and send any matches via email to my Dad, the thing that has now made me beleive it was Ecowise, was that my Dad described the jackets they were wearing and apparetnyl they are the EXACT description of the jackets that they discontinued a couple of youears ago (they wer'nt reflective).

So now we play the waiting game.....

still doesnt explain why they are asking about your dads car and what you drive.

No identification and no brochures, they were wearing jackets that the company discontinued a few years ago and were asking what kind of car the people in the house drive.......still sound like an electricity salesman?

WTF!?!!? why did he even ask for ID? if it didn't matter to him anyway? I'd keep your car locked up tight for a bit... admittedly, the info your dad gave wouldn't be of too much help to would be theives... would it? I thought they would have taken down what time you were home etc....

man this gets dodgier by the minute, if these people were wearing uniform that was dicontinued a few yrs ago then i think they b fake. hmmmmmmmmm have you asked your dad if he noticed it was dodgy...? i cant believe your dad gave the info..... good luck andrew....

Exactly the same thing happend to my mate. He was selling a mx bike and the guy wanted to have a look, my mate gave them the addy and said to come round in an hour coz they were out. By the time they got home the bike was gone.

All good looking back in hindsight tho.

Thats some freaky shit!

Id say the jackets were just to cover up being there and they were checkin the cars out so they know when youre there or not .

i would suggest beefin up ya security and actually taking out one of your

spark plug leads for a while or something just as easy ,THAT WILL **** EM

and you and your dad have learned a lesson ,IF ANYONE COMES TO YOUR DOOR YOU DONT KNOW - TELL EM NOTHING

Ecowise dont do house calls, and dont sell electricity, discontinued jackets may still be worn, but Ecowise dont do house calls

Mate, That definately sounds extremely dodgy!

Have you been to any other houses in your street or area to see if they visited anyone else? If so they might have been ligit or casing out some houses??...

Good luck!

I Have a story of my own in regards to this and I can tell you when I was half asleep and I heard the littlest noise I was straight up and investigagting.

Point been, It could just pay to be a bit paranoid for the next few days.

WOW.. sounds like a little social engineering in action.

Its been said many times you should report this. For a number of reasons.

a) You may not be the only one who has been targeted. The police may have information from other cases and yours will assist in completing the puzzel.

B) It may assist if you are to make an insurance claim on your house or cars. Particularly if there is violence involved.

The first thing I did when I purchased my R33 was a government approved / insurance recognised immobiliser and alarm. It also reduced my premium, which in two years would have paid for itself. The SMS notification is in the making as is Bluetooth control. Until then I have a wireless LAN camera watching over it. PC software allows you to draw a box around an area in the picture which when pixels change a sound is played and recording starts. I have that PC turned up real loud at night.

Good luck with this one mate. Its $hit no one needs but it does make you think about security.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
