Thanks for taking the time to design a shirt FriniK, but we're after a more generic and "simpler" design.

After consultation with quite a few people, it has been decided that a fair percentage of non-GTR owners would NOT buy an SAU t-shirt if it had anything "GTR-based" on it. That includes all silhouettes of GTRs, RB26s, or any other nomenclature associated with GTRs (e.g. Godzilla).

Personally, I don't understand it... As I don't think that you need to OWN a GTR to wear a shirt that says GTR on it... As long as you're a fan of the GTR, that should be more than enough reason to wear it.

But anyway, it has been decided to keep the t-shirts generic and simple.

FriniK that shirt design is awesome, well done man.

Since i wasn't consulted i'll voice my views on whether it matters if it has GTR references on it or not... I don't own a GTR but that wouldnt put me off the idea of a silhouette of a GTR on the shirt. I think the GTR looks much better so it'd be great for the shirt picture.

Take the current design out forward by FriniK for example. The only thing i thought may be controversial would be the actual model of the car and the RB26DET/twin turbo text.

Sure, it looks sweet, but maybe just keep the design as is but remove that line which leads to the hood of the car and have RB25DET written on the side too.

The other key issue is, what model skyline do you put as the picture? Just 1, all of them or none? I think there would probably have to be all if you wanted to keep EVERYONE happy, so that being said, maybe just the graphics without that car would be suffice.

Personally i think that if you are the sorta person who is keen enough to get one of these shirts/jackets; then you basically have the skyline heritage & loyalty in your blood & wouldn't mind too much on what model car/design was chosen in the end.

Just my 2 cents worth. :(

Dave.

i dont think it should be anything variant specific.... i.e. GTR's GTS-t's etc. NOR model specific i.e. R31, 32, 33, 34..

I reckon a more generic approach would be more popular..

maybe something which all skylines have... a distinct feature.. like the round tail lights..

or something even as simple as the "S" logo..

and then references to the website to create awareness etc.

Just my 2c.

Thats a very valid point, but i'm more like these people in that i'd rather wear something which applies more to my situation.

there is always one smart arse!

Heheheheheh!!! happy to be here!

Hey, I was checking out the Classic Skyline thread and thought.... What if the T-shirts or any of the other apparel items included the word Skyline in the different ways the Datsun/Nissan have used it over the years?.. no model mention, just..... SKYLINE.... after all, my fellow Australians, THIS is wot unites us....

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
