all i can say is i don't remember takumis girlfriend being a hooker in the cartoon series!!

hmmm watch 1st stage again, cause she was with that older guy in the series and getting money off him.....thats a hooker :)

the english dubbed version is so crap, i wouldn't even bother. I was able to get subtitled box sets from japan on ebay of the entire series. pretty cheap too. well worth it.

yeah I have all the original Jap ones with english subtitles. i must have just forgotten about the hooker part. i must admit it's been over 2 years since I watched any of them. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

got a dvd quality looking rip off bt last night. not some cam crap.

subtitles (SRT) are confuscous/yoda sounding towards the end.

the drift is awesome to watch. camerwork very well done. we skipped most of the storyline, since it was like 12am.

they butchered the story which ruins it. would be ok if you hadnt watch the anime before. but we were just offended.

wish they had just done the first 4 episodes instead.

shall have to check out the dubbed version on cartoon network. never look at the channel anyway, as its buried between 22-34.

and foxtel dont have program guide on 13 no more. just lame digital promos'

A little off topic........

In regards to Legends of speed (which I taped when it was on SBS hehe) Was the movie released before or after The Fast and The Furious? Because there were a couple of things similar between the two movies, I haven't watched either in awhile, but the one thing that comes to mind is the mechanics in both movies. In Legends of Speed the mechanic was mentally retarded but an ace with cars and tuning, Fast and Furious had a guy who had A.D.D but was also an ace with cars and tuning. Other things in common too but I'll have to watch them again to point them out.

Initial D 1st stage is still the best IMO, the rest is kind of pointless

Any good sites I can download the movie from?

well i first watched legend of speed in year 5 ..back in 1995..

and i watched F&F in 2000 (i think)

i heard keisuki wasnt in it..cause they crashed n killed the FD...early on...

and decided its too expensive...cause i think that wouldve been the most expensive car to replace and mod

because before it came out ..there was a few screen shots i saw of the movie in production..and the FD was right there...next to the 86

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
