OK, I have given the car some thought based on my personal financial position.  Firstly, I will struggle to save the money to get the car back on the road and secondly, once I do get on the road I'll be more broke than the word broke.  So for this reason I am selling the beast as-is for $12000 ONO.  I am also open to a swap.

Here is a complete list of what needs repair/replacing from my mechanic:

- Gearbox. Completely gone

- Flywheel & clutch. Clutch master and slave. All gone

- Engine block damaged.  Can be repaired but I would recommend a replacement.

- Engine sump damaged

- Back turbo blown.

- Front pipes chopped

- Starter motor damaged

- Front drive shafts damaged

- RHS CV damaged

- Engine mounts need replacement

- Radiator & fan shroud damaged

- Firewall damaged

- Left hand chassis welding splitted

- Some electrical wires have been chopped.

From the list of repairs, it will be best to buy a half cut, get whatever is needed to get back on the road and sell what you don't need from the half cut.   Yes, I agree, it does sound like a daunting task to get her back on the road but if I had the money, I would have stopped at nothing.  Unfortunately, money is a barrier for me and I have no choice but to give her up.

I am ready to take offers.  I look forward to hearing from you soon. Khoi

The clutch gave way and in turn damaged all of the above, WTF?

I would have to suggest breaking down for parts man.

Your quite unlucky cause the damage to the turbo and block says you may as well do the whole engine. Also the damage to the chassis is very worrying...

I have seen the damage caused by a shattered flywheel however i dont think this has happened in you case otherwise you would have shatttered the bell housing and the starter motor will be in pieces.

I think you will be best off getting rid of it to a wreaker as a whole car... You might be lucky to get 8.5-9k...

Cause from the list you put up as damaged i see 7-8g's worth of diy repairs (would not to the chassis myself) but yeah 12g for the car and 7-8k for the repair work and its a 20k gtr. Like every other r32 gtr round in the 89 vintage.

Sorry but this is the way it is.

I saw a 93 R32 GTR with mods and 63k on the clock go for 13k FOB. By the time to bring it back and comply you are looking at a nice new grade 3.5 GTR for 18-19g's.

You guys ever seen a flywheel let go?

Nuh never seen one let go, but if the flywheel doesn't leave the bell housing (which appears to be the case with this matter) then how is all this other damage sustained?

If you'll sell it for 8 grand and the firewall or chasis isn't to damaged I'll take it. I spoke to you last thursday and could you call me and I'll come and have a look tonight. BH95805511 or ah 95891440 Gareth.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
