Hehe - Aaron, what time did you get up? Did Lynne survive?

And to stop the PMs...

Belfast Car Bomb

1/2 pint of Guinness

shot made up of 1/2 Bailies - 1/2 Kahlua

Drop shot glass into pint and scull (taking care not to swallow shot glass)

Repeat as necessary :D

Good work by some of the newbie's - William and Mavric. Matt if you can learn to drive like your teacher in Brisby then we'll all have plently of entertainment to watch in the future.

Im not quite sure if this is a good thing or not... Providing entertainment on a similar level to Brisby think that should be left to the man himself.....

I left about 2 mins after Chris left, I had a shower and contemplated eating. that contemplation led to me needing to lay down for a while. I saw Lyn on the way back, in Templestowe so I think she held up ok.

I got MESSED

the JODA's owned me

a JODA is one shot of midori, one shot of cointreau, one shot of galliano and a splash of apple juice. This does not mix well with beers and Belfast car bombs.

Seemed like a bloody wonderful idea at the time though

I seem to remember talking to Cody Crockers godmother?

WARNING _ BIG POST_!

For those of you who care, or those of you who don't, the following can be found in my new book:

"How not to retrieve a Vehicle, in 10 easy to follow steps".

Chapter 1.) Only 9.5hrs return trip!

Left Benalla, and got home about 2.30. Left home at 3.

The trailer had an awful vibration, be disappeared at 80km/h. I saw a sign for hot donuts and pulled over. Checked the trailer, and smelt rubber. So I checked each tyre. One was ballooned a little, and was farken hot to touch. Let out some air. Get donuts and boot off.

about 30 mins later, I had a retread tyre on the trailer delaminate, so it had about a 1/4 of the tread missing. Fortunantly it happened 1 km from a rest stop. Limped it into there. go to change the wheel, and had the wrong sized wheel brace. needed a 19mm, I had a 17mm. (later found another one in the car that was 19mm).

So.... I Stood around ready the break something. Couple pulled up into the rest area. They had a Falcon. (19mm lug nuts). Asked them to use there wheel brace. Got The wheel off. After Undoing the bolts holding the spare to the trailer, found out that the spare was stuck to the trailer. Had to bash it off.

An hour or som later, We arrived in Benalia. I lined the trailer up with the car, and put chassis stands under the end with the ramps, and jacked up the front. So that it wouldn't pick the arse end of the car up. Tried to drive the car on, but the bumper was up against the trailer. There was about a 2 - 2.5" drop from the trailer top to the ramps. I couldn't even take them out to place them on the top. rolled the car off. I had to take the headlights and grill off to take the bumper off. All with no real tools. Just the ones that came in the emergency kit in the old mans car.

Took about 45mins to finally get the bumper off. Drove it up and tried to get it over the lip. It just bucked around and span wheels. rolled it back off. Found some wood that looked like it was a fence at some stage, as it still had partial rails attached, and pretty little decorative tops, and place it between the ramp and the trailer.

Pulled the stands out from underneath, jacked the front of the trailer up more. I left it attached to the tow car, cause otherwise it would roll around, because the trailer hand brake didn't work. The rear of the old man's car was almost off the ground.

Drove the car up the ramps, over the wood and the front end was on. Winched it forwards but it was getting caught on a bracket that the exhaust was mounted from. I wasn't going to roll the car back off again, so I got some wood, and jacked up the car off the trailer. The whole car moved forwards about 1/2 a foot with a bang, as the bracket let go of the now bent trailer top.

Got the car on it, positioned it in the middle. I had a wheel chock under the front, and winched the backend down. Also had the front held down too. As we were driving back, I was braking to turn onto the Hume, and the damn car moved about a foot forward, crushing the wheel chock, hitting the front of the trailer, and pulling the rear into the side, due to the way the rear end was held down. Got out again, tightened all the tie downs and drove the ****er home between 90 - 100km/h. This is in a 110 zone mind you.

Next thing that pissed me off was that now the car was a foot forwards, the cars rear end was squatting. Lights in the air, and the chain that linked between the car and the trailer was running along the ground. Stopped again, fixed the chains got coffee and drove home.

I got home at 12.15. Backed the trailer into the drive so I could drive the Telstar off the trailer. 12.30 rolled around and the car was off and I was inside.

Was defiantly a painful exercise, and if I had the $400+ to get the car home, I sure as hell would have done it that way.

Chris mate! I know you are going to kill me for this! I have RACV membership that covers me in any car. You should have said and I could have got a truck. Only thing I am not 100% on is whether it is tow home or to the nearest repair place especially at that distance. We were going to do that with ChrisNichollis GTS if he needed it after the shunt on the way to PI back in Feb.

Glad you got home eventually though mate.

Oh and Aaron, Dan and I unfortunately now know why you have that username! Just please dont put the photo up! I shall be undertaking a course of hypnotherapy to try and cure me and before anyone trys to guess what that means, the man took a photo of his own bare ass on the street as Dan and I were walking behind :chairshot :chairshot

maybe you should try to do the same

:uh-huh:

James - the bloke with the lifetime pass reckons his son used to race Cody and kick his arse, but he decided not to continue racing because it was too dangerous! hahahaha *cough*

Bummer Scott :D

But what would a Wang weekend be without some kind of adventure!

Glad you got it home OK though.

Let us know if you need a working bee weekend to get it all fixed up. I can stand around and call total strangers 'weak' while you guys do the work :D

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
