Hey ppls.

Well, the time has come for the first annual SAU VIC Gala Dinner and Awards night.

Saturday October 1st will be the night, and the venue will be in South Melbourne at a great new venue which would be perfectly suited to a car club.

It's a place called GM Automotive and houses some pretty nice cars, and possibly even a Skyline or two on the night.

At the moment the committee is woking out the best package with consideration to quality, price and the number of people who are interested.

Please show your interest by voting in the poll with your preferred price range.

And remember Gentleman JIM RICHARDS will be in attendance and giving a bit of a speach on the Skylines in Touring Car Racing back when Technology was embraced by Australian Racing fans!!

Thanks,

From the Committee.

Worth mentioning too - that this is a dinner for members and their partners. It will be a quality sit-down affair and will include the presentation of the 2005 club awards.

The award nomination thread is here:

Pete is full of useless information today! So now he can make another edit to his post.

Since the last round of the Track Club Championship isn't until October 8th the Trophy's for this won't be handed out in September. It will either be at a usual Club night in Oct or Nov or else done at our Xmas BBQ day.

Also how will you gauge how many are interested in attending if you don't have an option of "plus one/partner" etc..?

Once we know expected costs - and have a base indication of interest, we'll send out invitations with RSVP required for both member and their partner :)

No worries pete.......if you have already sorted thru the possibilties - great......I just thought that if someone knows a place where we can get mates rates we can spend more on the kegs :)

Sorry should have read the post more clearly :chairshot:

In that case put me down +1

We want it to be a nice place where are partners will be happy to be at too.

We could spend a truckload on grog and eat meat pies, but I know that my missus wont be coming!!

Once we know expected costs - and have a base indication of interest, we'll send out invitations with RSVP required for both member and their partner

yes yes, but but!.... I was referring to this:

"At the moment the committee is woking out the best package with consideration to......... the number of people who are interested."

You should sell official SAU event tickets once you sort it out

Oh and can I vote for a buffet.. there's nothing worse than deciding between sheeps b4lls or cow liver for dinner..

You can RSVP myself & 46n2

Cheers all!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
